OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
North Miami Beach PD alleges that Eldridge Alexis was armed with a machete and holding a woman hostage at a medical complex in North Miami Beach. Police arrived and tasered him and he fled. He ran to where nurses and medical personnel were where he took a female hostage. Police shot and killed him. His family, one of whom is an officer, stated that he was not a violent person and perhaps could have been talked down.
