OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Christopher Clyde Valentine, Sr. 49, had some recent shoplifting charges and alleged probation violations and was in a mental health crisis and in fear of police. He locked himself in a bathroom inside of the Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center and police claim that shots were heard inside the single bathroom he occupied alone. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded with a militarized SWAT siege. He asked to speak with the sheriff. It is unknown how that came out. Several hours into this pressure, Valentine committed suicide under police duress in the bathroom.
