On 05/26/2024, officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) responded to an incident in the Brentwood area of Jacksonville, Florida, where 30-year-old Ray Anthony Ross was reportedly seen firing into a car. Officer Brian L. Rone engaged Ross in a shootout, during which Ross was shot and killed by police gunfire. The exchange of gunfire also resulted in a stray bullet striking a nearby house.
