OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Police responded to reports of a man firing shots inside a residence on the 19200 block of Victory Boulevard in Tarzana on May 18, 2024. The man locked himself inside the home, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to deploy a SWAT team, establish a perimeter, and send negotiators to speak with him. At some point during the standoff, the man stopped communicating with officers. After approximately five hours, SWAT members breached the home and found the man dead inside. The circumstances surrounding his death were not released, and no record of his identity was made public by the coroner’s office.
