On 05/11/2024, Fresno Police Department officers pursued a motorcyclist, identified as 25-year-old James Baker, for allegedly driving at high speeds. The high-speed chase escalated, culminating in a collision between Baker’s motorcycle and a vehicle driven by 60-year-old Juan Jaramillo on Maroa Avenue. Both Baker and Jaramillo were killed as a result of the crash caused by the police pursuit. The Fresno Police Department is investigating the incident and their role in the fatalities.
