OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Dallas PD responded to a call about a man who had shot his mother and his sister after midnight in the 9300 block of Briggs Street near Texas 352 in southeast Dallas. The man reportedly had blood on him and was knocking on doors. K9 and officers arrived in the area, found him in a wooded area and a shootout between police and the man escalated. An officer was shot in his bulletproof vest and his leg. The K9 was also shot. Both would survive. The man was shot and killed.
