OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/27/2024, a Young County deputy attempted to stop a Dodge Caliber in Graham for a reported traffic violation. The driver, later identified as 29-year-old Eddric Laquinn Mickle, did not stop. Deputies escalated a pursuit through the city.
During the chase, the Dodge Caliber traveled at high speed through residential streets. Near the intersection of First Street and Texas Street, the vehicle became airborne and crashed. The impact killed Mickle and his passenger, 46-year-old Kyris Deshone McGraw. Authorities pronounced both men dead.
The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the pursuit and crash. The deputy involved has not been publicly identified in reporting.
