According to reports, Deputy Feenstra conducted the stop after identifying a potential violation. During the interaction, Chapman reportedly brandished a firearm. Deputy Feenstra fired multiple shots, striking Chapman.

Christopher Cauch, 43, had reportedly carjacked a vehicle earlier that evening in Lakewood and then barricaded himself inside the convenience store. He locked two employees in the back office and held one at knifepoint.

A helicopter crew observed Martha in nearby hills firing a handgun. Deputies from the Specialized Enforcement Division and crisis negotiators responded and attempted to communicate with him. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Martha later moved from his position toward deputies while still holding the handgun. Deputies opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead at the location.

On 02/25/2024, deputies from the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office fatally shot 36-year-old James Olin Manshack during arrest.

The deputy immediately called for emergency assistance and initiated life-saving measures. Despite these efforts, Cotton was pronounced dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol and the San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office are conducting a joint investigation into the incident. Preliminary reports indicate that the area lacks adequate lighting and crosswalks, and the speed limit is 45 mph. The deputy was on duty but not responding to an active call at the time of the collision. On the evening of February 24, 2024, Pima County deputies responded to a call about a man acting aggressively and wielding a sword at the Days Inn near Tucson International Airport. The man, later identified as 23-year-old Devon Lewis, was reported to be outside the hotel, yelling and threatening people with the weapon. When deputies arrived, Lewis briefly sheathed the sword before drawing it again and charging towards them. Deputy Ramon Morales, a one-year veteran with the Pima County Sheriff's Department, fired his weapon, striking and fatally wounding Lewis. Despite immediate efforts by other deputies to administer first aid, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is being investigated by the Pima County Regional Incident Team (PCRIT), with oversight by the Tucson Police Department. The PCSD will also conduct an internal review, with all findings to be submitted to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for further review.
