At 9:06 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023, TCSO and Manor Police Department (MPD) received notification from the Austin Police Department of an attempted carjacking in which someone was stabbed at 10095 East US 290 HWY Service Road Eastbound. Police saw a man walking in the middle of the roadway and a TCSO Deputy made contact with the man who was holding a knife. A TCSO deputy fired a taser, then both a TCSO Deputy and a MPD Officer fired their weapons, killing Dimitri Amarillas.
