Lawrence County deputies were pursuing a white 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 northbound on Missouri Highway 37, believing the driver to be impaired. The chase reached speeds up to 100 mph on county roads. The driver being chased ran a red light and t-boned a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Larry A. Brock, 53 of Crane. The high-speed impact sent Brock’s vehicle over a bridge and into a dry creek bed, instantly killing both Brock and his passenger, Lydia E. Shorey, 61, also of Crane.
