On 06/22/2023 at about 12:22 a.m., a San Pablo police officer saw a green 1997 Nissan Altima speeding on San Pablo Dam Road. The driver failed to yield to a traffic stop. San Pablo PD escalated a chase to 90 miles per hour. After about 0.7 miles and 30 seconds, the officer claims to have terminated the pursuit. Soon, the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office notified San Pablo police about a rollover collision involving the Nissan in the 5000 block of Appian Way. A 29-year-old unnamed man had died as a result of the police chase crash.
