A DPS trooper allegedly tried to stop a Kia with 6 people in it but the vehicle did not stop. Police escalated a chase to high speeds that ended when the vehicle crashed while being chased. Two people died and 4 others were transported to hospitals. The vehicle was reportedly chased for a traffic violation. Police did not indicate what the urgency in their investigation was which would warrant a fatal chase and expose the public to this risk over a traffic infraction and failure to stop in traffic alone.
