A sergeant of Auburndale PD was apparently speeding to an emergency when he crashed at high speeds into a civilian car and killed a 5-year-old passenger. The officer was sent on a call where a fist fight had ensued between a deputy and civilian elsewhere. Four teenage boys took a Ford Fusion that had been left in a driveway with the keys in and went on a joyride. When police spotted them and tried to stop them, 17-year-old driver Andreas Davis fled. Marion County deputies escalated a chase and the Ford crashed. Andreas Davis died shortly after in the hospital. Three teens ages 14 and 15 fled, were arrested and one is being charged with grand theft of motor vehicle, resisting arrest and other charges.

McDonald’s at drive-through, 4 police cars surrounded a black vehicle. The vehicle was in the line and when swarmed by police while waiting for a food order. A police vehicle reportedly deliberately ran into the black vehicles. The vehicle fled at high speed with a very aggressive police chase after it. An eyewitness described that it sounded like a bomb going off when the vehicle crashed into another vehicle at such high speeds due to the chase that one of the vehicle split in half. One person was declared dead at the scene. Four others were injured with some having to be cut out of the vehicles. A crushed bicycle was seen at the scene with a bicyclist becoming the fifth injured person also hit by the police chase and being transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Thomasville PD saw a man who had open drug warrants and escalated a high-speed chase through town which ended when the man crashed and killed bystander Jennifer Ferrell who was a third party motorist waiting at a stop sign. Ms. Farrell had been a beloved wife and mother and local Wendy's worker.

The local black community is very upset about this reckless police chase witnessed by locals. Interviews are linked below. Residents describe a police chase at very high speed that "flew by, ran stop signs" and crashed at very high speed. We at IncarcerNation are very familiar with Thomasville and know the exact spot where this happened. This is a small town and the streets are small, one of the intersecting streets where the fatal crash occurred being merely a single-lane residential street. Thomasville is 56% black, 41% white, total population 19,000. Thomasville is a small town but regionally important. This predominantly black population has a predominantly white male police force with the associated problems of such disparity. We are personally familiar with another case of Thomasville police brutality causing a life-threatening medical crisis in someone for the "crime" of having crossed the nearby Florida border with a small legal in FL amount of dispensary cannabis. An appeal was made this year to the PD which is familiar with the common excessive force of particularly their drug task force. Thomasville is a small town which is actively protesting this senseless pedestrian fatality over an attempted local drug bust, particularly since the black community is again held in disregard with his highly dangerous chase with predictable outcome, considering the location and events.

Police allege that the vehicle may have been speeding but it is confirmed that the officer pulled out of a precinct and into the path of the vehicle causing the collision and that mistakes may have been made by both drivers if indeed McGee was speeding.
