A San Bernardino deputy was involved in a high-speed collision with a Chevy Impala at 9:18 p.m. on Christmas Day near the intersection of National Trails Highway and Hibiscus Street in the unincorporated Oro Grande community. The Chevy overturned several times, was completely engulfed in flames and the unnamed driver died. The officer was air-lifted to a trauma center and his condition is unknown. Polide did not explain what caused this crash.
