Michigan State Police were dispatched for a domestic violence incident and saw a man fleeing who appeared to be "highly intoxicated." He took off in his vehicle and troopers escalated a chase. He ran a stop sign at an intersection and crashed into another vehicle. Both White and the driver of the other vehicle, 52-year-old Julie Ruttkofsky of Adrian, died in the crash.
