Kassandra Lozano was a passenger in the car of off-duty officer Pedro Lozano who crashed into a vehicle on the side of the road that had stopped to help a vehicle rolled over in the ditch. The officer in a Corvette smashed into the Good Samaritans’ vehicle, killing Kassandra Lozano and critically injuring one of the Good Samaritans and officer Lozano. A blood alcohol level was ordered on Officer Lozano, results not published by police. It is unknown how fast he had been driving. The crash occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Bob Bullock Loop near Lake Casa Blanca International State Park in Laredo.
