Police escalated a pursuit that ended in the 9000 block of Peavine Road, where Tollet exited his vehicle armed with a handgun and fired at the officer, striking the patrol vehicle's windshield. Knoxville PD were called to a “shots fired” situation during which a man had allegedly fired shots in the air in the 8000 block of Isherwood Lane in Knoxville. Police arrived with SWAT and ledge that Brian Testermann had a gun and did not put it down. Police shot and killed him.

Tipton County deputies were called to Fleetwood Drive in Millington on a report that someone with a weapon was threatening residence. Police arrived, encountered Logan Kilpatrick, and shot and killed him.

On October 5, 2024, around 2:15 p.m., Metro Nashville Police Department officers attempted to apprehend 40-year-old Corey Daniel Wellman, who was wanted for attempted murder. The encounter occurred near The Gulch area in Nashville.During the attempted arrest, Wellman exchanged gunfire with the officers. He was fatally shot during the shootout. No officers were injured in the incident.The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation into the shooting.

Nashville police foot-chased a 31-year-old man for undisclosed reasons. He fled into a nearby home and locked himself in. Police approached with SWAT, K9s and a Lenco Bearcat and escalated a standoff that lasted for hours. At 4 PM, police made forcible entry into the residence and found the man dead from suicide under police duress.
