Cause of Death : Suicide

Event : Suicide under police duress

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

Seattle Police Department officers responded around 4:51 a.m. to a domestic violence call at 32nd Avenue East and East Madison Street. While officers provided aid, Daniel Jolliffe fired multiple shots from an upstairs window at officers and the victim. Officer Leonardo Bassi Rodriguez returned fire and struck Jolliffe. King County Medical Examiner later ruled the death as suicide by self-inflicted gunshot wound, not by police fire. The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious but stable condition. Event : Motorcyclist bystander killed by police chase crash

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/15/2025, Spokane County Sheriff's Office and Washington State Patrol initiated a high-speed chase after a man carjacked a Dodge Challenger at gunpoint near a Spokane Valley coffee shop. The chase proceeded west on I‑90 toward Idaho at speeds reaching 140 mph. Along the interstate, the carjacker intentionally struck a motorcyclist, Richard Embree, near the Stateline area; Embree was hospitalized with serious injuries and died three days later from complications. The chase then returned to Spokane County, where officers deployed spike strips, disabling the car's tires at around 120 mph—creating dangerous conditions that contributed to the crash into civilian vehicles, including a motorcyclist’s, and a State Patrol vehicle. The carjacker exited at Trent Avenue, fired at law enforcement officers, and was killed when officers returned fire.

Metropolitan Police Department is leading the criminal investigation, and the U.S. Marshals Service declined further comment, stating standard protocol.

ONLINE DISCUSSION (Reddit):
“This is my cousin Marco. … He didn’t even have a gun on him or in his car!”
“I probably would’ve crashed out on the marshal myself but now … THEY ARE HIDING SOMETHING!”
So far, no official account confirms a weapon or threat, and his family is demanding transparency.
