According to reports, Luna was turning left from Cheshire Drive onto Kingston Pike when his 2015 Honda Accord was struck by Officer Klingmann, who was traveling eastbound.

Steven Primm allegedly threatened a group of men with a gun. When officers arrived, Primm fled on his bike and later shot an officer twice. Shortly after, a second officer fatally shot Primm.

Deputy constables were called to a home around 11 a.m. for a welfare check, potentially related to a CPS referral about a 16-year-old girl. As deputies attempted to remove the girl from the home, a man inside began shooting at them. The man barricaded himself with the teen and one deputy constable. Eventually, the deputy and the girl were able to leave the house. The man fled, carjacked a nearby driver, and a pursuit and gunfight ensued. Daniel Turney Crowley, a 31-year-old male, was shot and killed by officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on August 11, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee. At approximately 5:00 a.m., an officer conducted a business check at a Cricket Wireless store and noticed a vehicle with an Alabama license plate parked outside. The officer approached the vehicle and observed that the man inside had a knife, prompting a call for backup at 5:05 a.m. Additional officers arrived at 5:06 a.m., and shortly after, Crowley reportedly exited the vehicle and charged the officers with a knife. Officers opened fire and fatally shot Crowley at 5:07 a.m.

On August 10, 2021, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a Pamlico County Sheriff's Deputy arrived at 1773 Kennels Beach Road to serve an arrest warrant for 71-year-old Marvin Richard Hitchcock Jr., who had failed to appear in court on charges of driving while impaired and related offenses. Hitchcock was armed with a handgun upon the deputy's arrival, prompting the deputy to request backup. Additional law enforcement officers from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Oriental Police Department, and North Carolina Probation and Parole responded to the location.

For nearly 30 minutes, officers attempted to negotiate with Hitchcock, who continued to hold the firearm in a threatening manner toward himself and law enforcement. Police opened fire, killing him.

Border Patrol agents tracked a group of migrants for several hours, eventually apprehending seven individuals, including a man from El Salvador. After being handcuffed to two other migrants, the man became unruly, leading agents to separate him. He attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended again. On August 9, 2021, at approximately 9 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police responded to a call from inside an apartment in the 7500 block of Bayview Club Drive.
While an officer was checking the perimeter, Donald Williams fired at officers, striking one in the leg. Officers then entered the residence and discovered three additional people with gunshot wounds: an 11-year-old girl, a 41-year-old woman, and another individual whose condition was not specified. The 11-year-old girl and 41-year-old woman were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

On August 8, 2021, around midnight, an estimated 200 people and cars were participating in drag racing and drifting at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Milwaukee in Detroit. Undercover officers from the Detroit Police Department were monitoring the situation from an unmarked vehicle. During the event, their vehicle was struck by another car. The front seat passenger of the vehicle that collided with the officers' car reportedly got out with a handgun. Undercover officers opened fire and killed the passenger.

On August 8, 2021, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of The District nightclub, located at 4607 Johnston Street in Lafayette, Louisiana. The venue had hosted a concert by Baton Rouge rapper Webbie earlier that evening.
An off-duty moonlighting Lafayette Police Department officer, working security at the event, approached a group involved in an altercation. The officer claims that as he approached, one or more individuals fired at him. The officer returned fire, killing Dashawn "Big Top" Batiste, a 22-year-old man from Breaux Bridge. A female bystander was also shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The officer was unharmed and was not wearing a body camera at the time of the incident.

Louisiana State Police conducted an investigation and determined there was no probable cause to charge the officer. In September 2022, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed by Batiste's daughter, alleging that inadequate security measures at The District contributed to the fatal incident. On August 7, 2021, at approximately 12:44 a.m., Bismarck police officers responded to a report of a man acting erratically and screaming outside a residence on East Turnpike Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed 43-year-old Ryan Pederson attempting to jump a privacy fence into a neighboring property. Pederson appeared agitated, allegedly yelled at officers, and advanced toward them. Police engaged him in a physical altercation while attempting to arrest him.

During the struggle, Pederson was Tasered. It is unknown how many times the Taser was deployed or in which manner. Pederson immediately struggled with control of his arms and legs, suffering a medical emergency. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He had been unarmed.

An autopsy revealed that Pederson had amphetamine and methamphetamine in his system, which is known to enhance the effects of Taser usage. The Burleigh County State’s Attorney's Office cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.

Around 10:34 p.m. on August 6, 2021, Clarksville Police Department officers responded to 681 Ellie Nat Drive regarding a report of a person attempting to cut another person with a knife. Upon arrival, officers found a victim who had sustained injuries from a knife. The suspect entered the residence, allegedly to retrieve a firearm, leading to a standoff lasting nearly 12 hours. At approximately 9:41 a.m., the individual was found deceased inside the residence from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Harmer was located near the intersection of Glendora Avenue and West Route 66, where he was attempting to carjack at least two vehicles. When confronted by officers, he reportedly turned and pointed his firearm at an Azusa Police Department officer, who then shot and killed him.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is assisting the Azusa Police Department in the investigation of this officer-involved shooting. The names of the involved officers have not been publicly disclosed.

On August 4, 2021, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from the Mansfield Police Department and Ontario Police Department arrived at a residence on the 3300 block of Peterson Road to serve an arrest warrant for 38-year-old Sean Rowe. Authorities reported that Rowe had refused to turn himself in multiple times over a month-long period and had locked his property to prevent entry.

Police deployed pepper gas into the home. As officers attempted to force their way inside, Rowe exited onto the front deck before retreating back into the house. Police stated that Rowe threatened officers with weapons. Two officers fired their weapons, fatally striking Rowe.

Antonio D. King, a 22-year-old Black male, was shot and killed by officers from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department on August 3, 2021, near the intersection of Antioch Pike and Franklin Limestone Road in Nashville, Tennessee. Earlier, King allegedly opened fire inside a Smile Direct Club facility, wounding three people. Metro Police officers responded to the active shooter incident and fatally shot King at the scene.

On 08/03/2021, the Plymouth Township Police Department responded to a call at the Plymouth Gardens apartments around 11:30 p.m. in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 22-year-old man with a handgun outside the building. A woman was also present, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police shot and killed him.

Waco police responded to a call at 10:07 a.m. reporting a man had shot another man at the Rex-Plex Apartments. Officers arrived five minutes later and found a man dead from two gunshot wounds to the abdomen. The shooter, Ent Wright, initially barricaded himself inside an apartment. He then exited the apartment with a gun, reportedly fired multiple shots, and was shot and killed by officers.

On 08/01/2021, Julius Filep, 55, exited a stopped car and walked into the oncoming lane of traffic on State Route 18 in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Officer Mitchell Ngai of the East Brunswick Police Department was operating a marked patrol vehicle, responding to a reported motor vehicle accident in the southbound lanes. At approximately 4:13 a.m., Officer Ngai, traveling northbound near the accident site, struck and killed Filep.

On July 31, 2021, at approximately 4:08 a.m., Celina Police officers observed a blue 2004 Acura run a stop sign. Officers pursued the vehicle after it was observed swerving on the roadway.

The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Chad R. Rammel, did not stop as officers activated their lights and sirens. Police escalated a chase to speeds exceeding 95 mph. police alleged that they “called the chase” apparently moments before a crash was reported on a deserted narrow country Road just passed four in the morning we’re all allegedly Rammel died in a single vehicle crash. Chad Rammell, the driver, and so occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead. The incident is under investigation by the Ohio State Patrol.

A short time later, Mercer County Central Dispatch received a report of a crash on Mud Pike Road. Responders from the Ohio Highway Patrol and Mercer County Sheriff's Office discovered the crashed Acura. Rammel, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The driver initially complied but then drove away. Police escalated a high-speed pursuit. The chase ended when the vehicle lost control and overturned.

On 07/29/2021, George Tratras called 911 and reported that he had killed his parents. Initially cooperating with police, Tratras later fled during an exchange of gunfire. Officers from the Mt. Lebanon Police Department located him near US-19 and McLaughlin Run Road in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, where he was found deceased from a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. On July 29, 2021, around 5:30 p.m., officers from the Mansfield Police Department responded to a 911 hang-up call at an apartment located on 300 Wood Street in Mansfield, Ohio. Upon arrival, officers heard someone yelling for help from inside the residence.
Officers ordered James Haynes, a 31-year-old man armed with a knife, to drop the weapon. Instead, he allegedly moved toward a window. An officer fired a Taser, but Haynes began re-entering the apartment through the broken window. Officers opened fire, then forced entry into the apartment. Inside, they again confronted him while he was still armed and fired additional shots, killing him.

On July 27, 2021, Chickasha Police responded to a 911 call reporting a suicidal woman with a firearm at a residence in the 1100 block of West Tennessee Avenue. Upon arrival, officers encountered 49-year-old Lisa Hight outside the home with a gun. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, Hight retreated into the residence, firing multiple shots from inside. At one point, she allegedly pointed the gun at officers, prompting an officer to discharge their weapon. Subsequently, officers heard another gunshot from within the house. Upon entry, they found Hight deceased.

Officer Cecil Morrison responded to a report of domestic violence at an apartment on Third Street. Upon arrival, he approached Michael Whitmer's vehicle with his firearm drawn. Inside the vehicle was Whitmer’s 4-year-old son, seated in the back seat. Whitmer attempted to reverse the vehicle out of the driveway multiple times, during which his car collided with an unoccupied police cruiser. As Whitmer reversed again, Officer Morrison fired multiple shots into the vehicle, fatally wounding Whitmer. Reports indicate that Whitmer had been unarmed at the time of the shooting.

Following the incident, Officer Morrison was charged with negligent homicide, a misdemeanor offense. He pleaded no contest to the charge and was ordered to permanently surrender his Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate, effectively ending his law enforcement career in the state. Notably, after the shooting and before his plea, Morrison was hired by the Nelsonville Police Department; however, his law enforcement certification surrender precludes future employment as an officer in Ohio.

In addition to the criminal proceedings, Morrison faces a civil lawsuit filed by Whitmer's family, alleging violations of Whitmer’s constitutional rights.
