The unidentified male teenage driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

On January 14, 2021, at around 3:15 p.m., the Brooklyn Park Police Department responded to reports of a man walking through yards in the 7500 block of 83rd Avenue. Initially, a caller reported that this man had broken into his home but then fled. The vehicle was driven by 17-year-old Vinnie Hamlet, the twin brother of Chris Hamlet, with Chris and a 17-year-old female passenger. Troopers used a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver, directly causing the SUV to flip multiple times and land in a field near Southwest 119th Street and South Meridian Avenue. Vinnie Hamlet was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Chris Hamlet and the female passenger sustained injuries but survived.

Junius Thomas, had allegedly kicked in the door of a residence, prompting the female occupant to flee and call 911. Upon arrival, deputies found Thomas armed and "extremely agitated." THE SWAT team was deployed. SWAT officers used an armored vehicle to breach the door. Thomas then appeared in the doorway and raised a gun toward the officers, at which point Deputy Ricky Phillips shot and killed Thomas. A subsequent autopsy revealed the presence of methamphetamine in Thomas's system. Four months later, Officer Phillips shot and injured someone during arrest again. A Butler County grand jury reviewed both incidents and declined to issue an indictment, determining that the use of force was justified.

On 01/09/2021, just after 9:30 a.m., deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a residence on Sunburst Road in Victorville reporting unknown individuals attempting to break into the home. The caller was Betty Francois, age 91. Deputies arrived and Francois exited the home holding a shotgun. Deputies issued commands for her to put the firearm down. According to authorities, Francois did not comply and the firearm was pointed toward deputies. A deputy opened fire, shooting and killing her. Later reporting stated that Francois was blind and deaf. The shooting was placed under investigation and no charges against deputies were announced at the time of reporting. The names of the officers were never released.

On 01/09/2021, Phoenix police responded to reports of a disturbance in a parking lot near West Van Buren Street involving Paul Bolden and a woman. According to police accounts, during the incident Bolden took an infant from the woman and entered Van Buren Street. Police said a pursuit followed, reaching speeds well over 100 miles per hour. The vehicle left the roadway and slid down an embankment into the median near mile marker 173. Two troopers approached the vehicle. According to police accounts, Xzavier Deyonté Hill displayed a firearm during the encounter, and troopers opened fire, killing him. A grand jury later declined to indict the troopers involved. Hill’s family filed a civil wrongful death lawsuit challenging the circumstances of the shooting.

At approximately 11:51 p.m., Oxendine allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the SWAT team. Deputies opened fire, killing him.

The vehicle fire was extinguished, and Oxendine was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that the object Oxendine pointed at deputies was a toy gun with a wooden stock. He had been unarmed.
