On 09/03/2021, officers with the Westminster Police Department were conducting a surveillance operation at a residence on Billings Street in Denver, Colorado, while attempting to locate a man police stated was wanted in their jurisdiction. Police stated Drew Dominick Lucero exited the home and moved toward an officer’s vehicle. Police alleged that during the encounter, Lucero fired shots toward officers. Officers opened fire and shot and killed Lucero at the scene.

On September 3, 2021, Mark Edward Danley allegedly robbed a business in Weston around 10 a.m. Officers pursued Danley on U.S. Route 19 into Jane Lew, during which Danley rammed an officer's police cruiser. The pursuit involved troopers from the West Virginia State Police, deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff's Office, and Division of Natural Resources officers. The chase continued until stop sticks disabled Danley's vehicle, causing him to flee on foot. Danley ran into a backyard, where he attempted to take a man hostage. The man managed to push Danley to the ground. As Danley tried to get up and allegedly aimed to shoot at deputies, officers shot and killed him before he could fire.

On September 3, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies from the Valencia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) responded to a suspicious vehicle report on New Mexico State Road 6 near mile marker 19. Upon arrival, they encountered 28-year-old Jose Angel Baca, who fired at a deputy, striking him. Baca then fled the scene in a white Dodge pickup truck. A "be on the lookout" (BOLO) alert was issued, and VCSO deputies, along with New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers, located Baca's vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The chase continued through Los Lunas, with Baca eventually crashing near the railroad tracks at State Road 314 and Davila Road. Baca exited the vehicle and began firing at law enforcement officers. In response, two VCSO deputies and one NMSP officer discharged their weapons, fatally wounding Baca. A VCSO deputy was injured by shrapnel during the exchange but was treated and released from the hospital. Baca was pronounced deceased at the scene. At the time of the incident, Baca had recently been released from probation for aggravated battery upon a police officer resulting in great bodily harm, battery on a household member, and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer during arrest. The names of the officers involved were not released immediately following the incident. The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau conducted the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.

On 09/01/2021, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check after a family member reported Connor Riley McDaniel was suicidal and had sent goodbye messages. Deputies located McDaniel in the 17000 block of Gollihar Court near Peyton and spent hours trying to communicate with him while additional crisis response resources joined. Police said McDaniel had a handgun, fired multiple rounds during the incident, and fired toward deputies. Deputies Ryan Gonzales, Andrew Peery, and David Fisher opened fire and shot McDaniel. The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office later ruled the deputies’ use of deadly force justified. The DA media release stated multiple deputies had body worn cameras recording during the encounter and said the recordings were used in the review.

On September 1, 2021, at approximately 3:30 PM, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) deputies responded to reports of a public disturbance in the 6400 block of Park Manor Drive in Metairie, Louisiana. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Anne Marie Schilly, a 65-year-old woman, reportedly agitated and behaving erratically. Witnesses stated that Schilly was directing racial slurs and profanities toward parish workers repairing a water main. Specific remarks included the use of the N-word and commands such as, "Go back to your country," directed at the workers. This behavior was captured by bystanders on video.

Deputies approached Schilly to de-escalate the situation, but she refused to cooperate, entered her vehicle, and fled the scene. In the process, Schilly dragged one of the responding deputies with her car for a short distance before breaking free.

A high-risk pursuit ensued, with Schilly driving erratically through Metairie, endangering other motorists and pedestrians. During the chase, she reportedly attempted to strike multiple individuals with her vehicle. Eyewitness accounts describe her driving onto sidewalks and into oncoming traffic, exacerbating the public safety threat. The pursuit concluded near the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Lisa Drive, where heavy traffic temporarily halted Schilly’s vehicle.

In response, Deputy Jane Smith fired multiple shots into the driver’s side of her vehicle, striking Schilly. Her car traveled an additional 40 to 50 feet before coming to a stop. On August 30, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Brevard County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop near Interstate 95 and State Road 192 in West Melbourne, Florida. The vehicle had three adult occupants and a 2-month-old infant. During the stop, deputies asked passenger Paris Wilder to exit the vehicle. Wilder immediately opened the door armed with a rifle and began shooting at the deputies. Deputies opened fire, resulting in Wilder's death. One deputy was shot in the lower leg and sustained a non-life-threatening injury. The injured deputy was also attacked by Wilder with multiple strikes to the head with the butt of the rifle. As the attack on the injured deputy continued, the original deputy was able to end the threat by using deadly force and shooting Wilder.

On August 29, 2021, at approximately 4:15 a.m., 24-year-old Michael Rosado and his 44-year-old father, Rafael Rosado, were involved in a dispute with a group of individuals on Valentine Avenue in the Bronx. The dispute escalated to a physical altercation, during which Michael Rosado allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired several shots.

On 08/29/2021, an Atlanta police officer responded after a person reported being struck with a pipe and directed the officer to Peachtree Street, where police stated an individual was striking vehicles with a metal pipe. Police stated the officer issued verbal commands and that the man continued walking toward the officer. Police stated the officer deployed a Taser, which did not stop him. The officer then opened fire and killed the man.

On August 29, 2021, a pregnant woman was killed when a stolen car being pursued by Newton County deputies crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 36 and Henderson Mill Road in Covington, Georgia. The woman bystander was in the struck vehicle and died from injuries sustained in the crash. Her identity was not released publicly. On August 28, 2021, Fort Smith Police responded to reports of unauthorized individuals tampering with vehicles at a construction site on Old Greenwood Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a damaged and abandoned Ford van and evidence of multiple construction vehicles being hot-wired. A water truck had been stolen and later found crashed through a fence at a nearby business, where additional vehicles had been tampered with. A box truck stolen from the business was tracked to an area near South E Street in Fort Smith. When officers attempted to engage the man, he drove away. Police escalated a chase into Arkoma, Oklahoma. In Arkoma, police attempted to stop the box truck using patrol vehicles. The driver rammed the police vehicles, nearly driving over a small police sedan. Officers then discharged their firearms, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the truck was unharmed and taken into custody. Another woman, allegedly connected to the incident, was arrested after arriving at the scene at high speed. Due to the man being Native American, the FBI assumed jurisdiction over the investigation, in accordance with federal guidelines.
