On 03/22/2021, Cleburne County sheriff’s deputies responded to a call after a man was found shot in the chest in Fruithurst. The wounded man and another witness identified a suspect to deputies. Deputies later located the suspect in another area near U.S. Highway 78 and Depot Street. During the encounter, the man exited a vehicle and raised a handgun toward deputies. Deputies fired their weapons, killing him at the scene. The killing was reviewed by investigators, and no criminal charges were filed against the deputies.

On March 21, 2021, at approximately 7:19 p.m., deputies from the Chaves County Sheriff's Office went to a property on 6400 Shadow Road in Dexter, New Mexico, to serve Sergio Gutierrez Chairez, 31, with two outstanding arrest warrants. Upon arrival, deputies observed Chairez outside the residence but were unable to enter due to a locked gate and fencing.

After obtaining a search warrant, deputies entered the property, at which point Chairez locked himself inside a semi-truck parked on the premises. Negotiations to convince Chairez to surrender were unsuccessful. Deputies eventually breached the semi-truck, and a deputy discharged their firearm, fatally striking Chairez.

Deputies interviewed the woman and later stopped a vehicle that left the scene. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found the man hiding in the trunk. When confronted, the man allegedly pulled out a gun. Deputies surrounded the vehicle and attempted to negotiate with the man for several minutes before he shot and killed himself.

On March 21, 2021, around 6 p.m., a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol spotted a speeding 2018 Porsche Macan on Interstate 275. The officer activated lights and sirens, initiating a pursuit. The chase lasted about a minute and a half before the driver, 14-year-old Alexander Lara, lost control of the vehicle.

On March 18, 2021, deputies from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office arrived at 14554 Pecan Road in Keithville, Louisiana, to execute an arrest warrant for an individual other than William "Billy" Walls, a 68-year-old male. Walls, a neighbor, permitted deputies to search his mobile home. During the search, Walls became agitated and attempted to re-enter his residence. For officer safety, he was detained and placed in the back of a patrol car. While in custody, Walls experienced a medical emergency. Deputies removed him from the vehicle and initiated CPR until emergency medical services arrived. Walls was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputy Ryan Chapman was later indicted on charges of malfeasance in office in connection with Walls' death. The indictment alleges that Chapman handcuffed Walls without reasonable suspicion of a crime, leading to his asphyxiation. They found Anton Lamont Burnes firing a handgun from a pedestrian bridge. On 03/18/2021, Aiken County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a traffic disturbance at Marshall Street and Ergle Street in Graniteville. Deputies encountered 31 year old Exzabian Morgan Myers, who told officers he was high and asked to be taken to jail. Deputies handcuffed Myers. During the encounter, deputies said Myers attempted to move away and ran toward traffic. Deputies deployed their tasers multiple times while Myers was already restrained. Deputies then left Myers in a position that restricted his breathing. Myers became unresponsive and died at the scene. His family disputed the sheriff’s office account and later filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging excessive force, repeated taser use, and positional asphyxia, arguing deputies escalated a medical crisis into a fatal restraint. No deputies were criminally charged.

Around 6 a.m., a Chevrolet Equinox traveling south on South Bryant Boulevard exceeded the speed limit by 10 miles per hour. A police officer attempted to catch up, but the Chevrolet sped up and ran a red light, colliding with a tan-colored Explorer Sport Trac. Two teenagers, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, were killed in the crash, along with a 12-year-old boy who was critically injured. The driver of the Chevrolet, Benjamin Elder, 24, was arrested on suspicion of accident involving death.

Daryl Lenard Jordan attempted to steal a bicycle from a bus, leading to a confrontation with the bike owner during which Jordan pulled out a gun and fired shots. He took the bike and went to a Chevron gas station, where he began shooting after an employee refused to let him inside. At the gas station, he stole a vehicle from a patron and left the scene, eventually crashing the vehicle into a market. When officers responded, a confrontation and exchange of gunfire occurred, and police shot and killed Jordan.

On 03/18/2021, Michael "Mike" Murphy, 22, and Joseph Bougie, 32, were killed when their BMW sedan crashed into a utility pole and tree near Sixth Street and Long Hill Road in Dover, New Hampshire. The vehicle was engulfed in flames following the crash. Dover Police had interacted with the individuals earlier, but officers stated they were not pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash. Published evidence suggests Murphy and Bougie may have believed they were being pursued.

On 03/18/2021, around 11 a.m., two officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 7800 block of Bodkin View Drive in Pasadena following a call from a mental health facility to check on a man reported to be suicidal. Upon arrival, the officers entered the home through an unlocked door and encountered Leonard Popa holding a handgun. One of the officers then shot and killed Popa.

On 03/17/2021, at approximately 1: 45 a.m., officers from the Madison Heights Police Department began pursuing a vehicle without a license plate. The pursuit was terminated at the border of Royal Oak. Royal Oak Police Department officers then spotted the same vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver, SouhibZokari, did not stop. Police continued to chase west on 11 Mile Road with speeds exceeding 90 mph until Zokari lost control of his car and crashed into a light pole on the side, killing him.
