On 03/17/2021, Saint James police responded to a report of gunfire in the 800 block of West Washington Street where a man barricaded himself inside a home, and after hours of standoff activity police reported he was found dead inside, with public reporting describing the death as self inflicted during the police standoff.

Francisco Arriaga, 47, was driving a 2012 Cadillac Escalade northbound on Summerhill Rd. when he failed to stop at a flashing red traffic light. Nash PD Officer Sostenes Sanchez, driving a 2011 Crown Victoria, was traveling westbound on New Boston Rd. and struck the passenger side of Arriaga’s SUV. The Escalade flipped onto its roof during the crash. Clarissa Arriaga, 45, a passenger in the vehicle, was killed. Three others, including Officer Sanchez, were injured in the incident.

At 7:14 p.m., deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office responded to an armed disturbance at the Surf and Sand Hotel. The caller reported that a man was battering a woman and was armed with a gun. Upon arrival, deputies found the man and the woman inside a hotel room. Deputies stated that the man was armed and refused all commands to surrender. Deputies shot and killed him.

On March 17, 2021, around 10:30 p.m., Fraron Cornelius, a worker at the Roundy's supermarket distribution center in Oconomowoc, shot and killed two co-workers. The following morning, around 5 a.m., police spotted his vehicle in Milwaukee and pursued it. The pursuit ended when Cornelius crashed into the front yard of a home. After exiting the vehicle, Cornelius shot and killed himself.

On 03/16/2021, Utah County Sheriff’s deputy Joseph Richardson was driving his personal vehicle at a high rate of speed while responding to an unrelated incident when he crashed into the vehicle driven by 22 year old Joseph Spencer in Provo. Spencer was killed in the collision. Investigators later determined that Richardson was traveling well above the speed limit and was not responding to a call involving an immediate threat to life. Prosecutors charged Richardson with felony manslaughter in connection with Spencer’s death. In 2023, Richardson reached a plea deal in which the manslaughter charge was reduced to negligent homicide and held in abeyance, allowing him to avoid prison if conditions were met. Spencer’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the county, citing reckless conduct and systemic failures in accountability.

After the vehicle struck police vehicles more than once, officers fired at Smith. Smith exited the vehicle following commands but later died from his gunshot wounds. The Alameda County District Attorney’s office reviewed the shooting. A federal judge later allowed the family’s wrongful death lawsuit to proceed, finding disputed facts regarding whether officers acted with reckless disregard, but there are no known criminal charges against the officers involved in Smith’s killing.

She was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of US-1 and Tramway Road in Sanford when deputies initiated a high-speed chase of a teenage driver who refused to stop for a traffic stop.

On 03/12/2021, a standoff occurred at a residence located at 1300 Mayfield Drive in DeWitt Township, Michigan. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the DeWitt Township Police Department, Bath Township Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff's Office, East Lansing Police Department, Eaton County Sheriff's Office, and Michigan State Police, were involved. During the standoff, Christopher Ryan Lee reportedly fired shots at moving objects outside the home. After several hours, it was determined that Lee had shot and killed himself inside the residence.

One deputy then fired a gun, killing Tarbox at the scene. A grand jury later reviewed the case and ruled the killing justified. No criminal charges were filed against the deputies.

Baker searched Holbert’s purse and claimed to find drugs, then returned to his patrol vehicle. Holbert retrieved her purse and got back into her car. Police said Timothy Jonas Johnson entered a neighboring condo while it was unoccupied, fired gunshots inside, and returned to his own unit. When the condo’s resident later returned and discovered damage, law enforcement from multiple agencies responded and established contact with Johnson inside the building. Another person was present inside the condo during the incident. During the encounter, Johnson fired multiple shots. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper then fired a gun, killing Johnson.
