On March 7, 2024, around 12:17 a.m., Northwestern State University (NSU) Police initiated a vehicle pursuit involving 51-year-old Georgia Lenelle Stenson on the NSU campus in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Natchitoches Police Department (NPD) was called to assist as the pursuit continued westbound on University Parkway. During the chase, Stenson's vehicle collided with three NPD patrol cars, causing moderate damage. Nathan Brat Sandel had a warrant in Vernon Parish for a domestic violence case and was seen driving in Vernon Parish. Quiana Brown, 38, was crossing the street in Baton Rouge when a grey sedan hit her and left the scene. It is unknown whether she was injured and still alive or at which point she died because a responding Baton Rouge police vehicle rushed to the scene and ran over her body lying in the street next. She was dead after the second impact and it is not known which of the 2 vehicles killed her, the hit-and-run grey sedan or the responding Baton Rouge PD officer. The family is convinced due to unknown details that the impact by the police cruiser, the second crash, killed her.

A Baton Rouge officer crashed into eight vehicles while racing to Government Street where someone had allegedly fired at police. The officer involved in this wreck was traveling at unknown speed, hit a Domino’s delivery driver and 7 other cars. The impact ejected the engine of the pizza delivery vehicle and sent it airborne. Caleb James Chapetta, a third-party motorist who was on the road when the police cruiser crashed into multiple cars at once, was ejected from his vehicle from the high-speed impact and died. The exact speed of the officer is unknown. Also unknown is the necessity of the racing cruiser as multiple vehicles typically respond to a “shots fired” call and the need for numerous police cars to race through town commonly presents duplicate efforts and risks.

Police arrived on College Drive about a fight over custody. Dantonior Stalling allegedly raised a gun at police and was shot and killed. Nearby, police found 18-year-old Dyshon Williams dead, allegedly killed by Stalling. Williams is not listed individually in this space as the first killing occurred prior to police arriving and was not influenced by their presence.

Calcasieu Parish deputies were called to a noise complaint in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, found David D. Hungerford allegedly “stumbling around” the parking lot and tasered him. He died shortly thereafter. He is believed to have been unarmed.

A recently fired man went to FMT Shipyard and Repairs and opened fire on former coworkers. He was shot and killed by Jefferson Parish deputies.
