The vehicle crashed near the intersection of Highway 75 and Highway 370. The driver was found unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead shortly after.

On March 10, 2025, Nebraska State Patrol troopers attempted a traffic stop on a driver traveling on Interstate 80 near Grand Island. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase. The pursuit ended when troopers performed a tactical vehicle intervention, causing the vehicle to crash. The driver was taken into custody but was found unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not disclosed the driver’s identity. The case remains under investigation.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., David Armstrong, 34, allegedly stole a vehicle at gunpoint from a gas station in Tarkio, Missouri. He fled west on U.S. Highway 136, crossing into Nebraska via the Missouri River Bridge at Brownville. Utilizing OnStar technology, police tracked the stolen vehicle. A Nemaha County Sheriff's deputy located the car on Highway 67 near Brock and initiated a pursuit that concluded on Highway 105 Spur, just south of Johnson, Nebraska, when OnStar remotely disabled the vehicle. Armstrong did not comply with commands to exit. Upon approaching the vehicle, a Nebraska State Patrol officer found Armstrong deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On February 28, 2025, Toby Gray, 39, was pronounced dead at Bryan Health West Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. Gray had been in custody at the hospital since February 21, 2025, after being found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence in rural Harvard, Nebraska. Earlier that evening, Gray had called Clay County 911 threatening harm against his wife, Heather Gray, 35. Deputies responded to the home and found Heather Gray deceased from multiple gunshot wounds and Toby Gray with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Toby Gray was arrested on charges of first-degree murder but remained hospitalized until his death.

On January 28, 2025, Jessica Kleckner, arrested on Jan. 21, 2025, wasfound dead in her cell at Lincoln County Jail in North Platte, Nebraska. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

On November 6, 2024, Omaha police responded to a domestic disturbance call involving Rafael Crespo and a woman. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the two individuals hiding inside a closet. Despite attempts to negotiate, the situation escalated when Crespo fired additional shots, prompting officers Pablo Jimenez and Noah Zendejas to fire shots at him. However, Crespo allegedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both officers were interviewed voluntarily and the case is under investigation. This incident is being reviewed by a grand jury.

On October 28, 2024, Omaha police responded to a domestic violence call at the residence of Rory Geiger. Geiger had shot his wife, Rebecca Geiger, and was reportedly firing at police as they arrived. Officers returned fire and entered the home, finding Geiger deceased. Five deputies involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave as per protocol. Investigators are reviewing body camera footage and other surveillance recordings.

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to traffic-stop a vehicle heading west on I-80 at 3:11 p.m., but the driver turned around and drove the wrong way on the interstate. SCSO said the vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lanes near the Milford exit and continued on I-80. Deputies apparently followed him head-on in the wrong direction at high speeds until it came to a stop on I-80 near the Pleasant Dale exit. According to deputies, the passenger exited the vehicle but the driver reportedly refused. Deputies claim they saw an unspecified weapon in his hand and shot and killed the man. No video or eyewitnesses can be located so far.
Officer Anthony Gann was charged with manslaughter in April of 2024 and was arrested with trial pending.

Matthew Johnson was allegedly waving a gun around and was shot and killed by police. Very little about the circumstances was revealed. Omaha PD allege this was a “suicide by cop” but neither police nor family provided no indication that the man had been suicidal. The claim of “suicide by cop” is a popular theme with police trying to explain their homicides which is also very often contradicted by the details of a case. Bellevue PD investigated a call that people had been seen running from a residence and drove to the location near Childs Road and Camp Brewster Road. Joseph Jones, 32, entered the store armed with an AR-15-style rifle and fired several rounds, causing shoppers and employees to flee or seek shelter.

Steven Docken was seen in a storage facility locker where 2 Omaha PD officers felt he was trying to steal. Omaha officers state that they saw Loren Dexter who had been involved in the disturbance at the front of the home. Cass County deputies were sent to an assault call in which a son, Andrew Stratton, had struck his father in the head. The father called 911. Two people and a police K9 were killed as a result of a police chase crash in York. A deputy reportedly attempted to traffic-stop a 2008 silver Ford F-150 seen to be driving erratically in York County. The vehicle did not immediately stop and police escalated a chase in excess of 100 miles per hour and continued to Road H and Road 18 where the vehicle stopped. Police allege that the man concealed his hands and advised officers that he wanted to die. Police claim that he advanced toward the officers and took over the marked patrol canine unit.
The man gained control of the police cruiser and another chase began.
The patrol vehicle stopped on the railroad tracks. The man then exited the vehicle and stood outside the vehicle as a train approached.
Officers tried to intervene and regain control of the patrol vehicle and retrieve the canine. The man got back into the patrol vehicle and a train blocked officers on the south which the man used to turn around and approach the train at fast speeds. The man struck a bystander vehicle at the crossing. Edinger and the K9 were killed in the crash

On December 15, 2021, around 10:30 a.m., deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department were called to investigate an unknown vehicle in the 700 block of South Walnut Street, North Platte. They found Keith Alan Hinrichsen, 52, inside the vehicle. When deputies approached, Hinrichsen allegedly got out of the car and moved towards them. Police shot and killed him. He was declared dead at the scene. It is unknown whether he was armed or represented a threat and why he was shot. The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the event.
