During the encounter, police stated that a 41-year-old man was armed and did not comply with commands to drop his weapon. An officer opened fire, killing him. Officers recovered a firearm at the scene. A second man, 34, was taken into custody.
The officer involved is a 43-year-old with more than 10 years of service and was placed on administrative duty, which is standard procedure. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team is handling the case, with the Wauwatosa Police Department leading the investigation.

On 03/05/2025, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Hudson police responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 1600 block of Namekagon Street. An officer contacted a man by phone, who made concerning statements suggesting potential danger within the home and threatened to provoke officers into shooting him. After several hours of negotiation, the man exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident. Upon searching the home, officers discovered a deceased woman inside. The identities of both individuals and the cause of the woman's death have not been released, and the investigation is ongoing.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Bo A. Johnson for reckless driving in Iowa County. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase into Dane County. Near mile marker 65 on U.S. Highway 18/151 in the Town of Blue Mounds, the vehicle crashed. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

OOn the evening of February 24, 2025, Fond du Lac County Sheriff's deputies contacted 26-year-old Jesús Armando Méndez Berry, who had an outstanding felony warrant. A citizen had reported seeing a handgun in Méndez Berry's waistband. Deputies located him in the 6300 block of Cherrywood Drive in the Town of Fond du Lac. After Méndez Berry allegedly refused to follow repeated commands, a deputy discharged a non-lethal weapon. Méndez Berry then produced what deputies believed to be a firearm, prompting another deputy to discharge their firearm at 6:22 p.m., striking him. Life-saving measures were attempted, and Méndez Berry was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. ​Upon further investigation, it has been confirmed that Jesús Armando Méndez Berry was holding a black Gamo 430 CO2 Pellet/BB Handgun at the time of the incident. Deputies initially believed it to be a firearm, leading to the shooting.

On February 12, 2025, just before noon, Milwaukee Police Department officers responded to reports of a man firing a rifle into the air near 27th Street and Wisconsin Avenue, west of Marquette University. Upon arrival, officers encountered 24-year-old Isaiah W. Stott and ordered him to drop the weapon. Stott instead fired at the officers, injuring a 34-year-old male officer. A 37-year-old male officer, also with eight years of service, discharged his firearm, striking Stott. Stott was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The Milwaukee Area Investigative Team is conducting the investigation, with the Oak Creek Police Department serving as the lead agency. Body camera footage from the incident will be released in accordance with standard operating procedures. The officer who discharged his weapon has been placed on administrative duty, per departmental protocol.

On February 5, 2025, Caledonia Police Department officers initiated a pursuit of a vehicle near 4 Mile Road and Douglas Avenue in Caledonia, Wisconsin. For undisclosed reasons, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to flip multiple times. A passenger was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

On February 1, 2025, a Columbia County Sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on Interstate 90 near Portage, Wisconsin. The driver did not stop. While attempting to exit onto Highway 33, the pursuit vehicle rolled over, ejecting two passengers. One passenger was pronounced dead while the other sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver and two additional passengers were transported to local hospitals.

On January 18, 2025, officers from the Wausau Police Department and deputies from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office escalated a chase against a vehicle for undisclosed reasons. The chase continued at high speed until the vehicle crashed on Highway 47 in Oneida County, Wisconsin. The vehicle collided with another car as a result of the pursuit. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was killed, and six others were injured. Among the injured, four were passengers in the fleeing vehicle, and two were occupants of the other car. The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the critical incident.

On 01/23/2025, 49-year-old Matthew Luke was shot and killed by officers from the Eau Claire Police Department in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The circumstances leading to the shooting remain undisclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
