Ojay Cummings rear-ended a car driven by a man who was with his wife. After an argument, Cummings took a swipe at her phone and ran when the husband called 911. A Fruitland Park officer responding to the call arrived about a minute later and saw Cummings jump off a bridge. Officers searched for him with the help of the sheriff's drone unit but had to call off the search due to darkness. Deputies found his body the next day.

On 04/15/2021, Tuscaloosa police shot and killed 29 year old Roderick Inge following a police pursuit and confrontation in a wooded area near Skyland Boulevard. Officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute involving gunfire into a vehicle carrying a woman and two children, ages three and five. While officers were speaking with the woman, police saw Inge driving nearby and chased his vehicle through the area.
The pursuit ended in a parking lot, where Inge exited the vehicle and entered a nearby wooded area. Officers located him in the woods shortly afterward. During the encounter that followed, police opened fire and killed Inge.

On April 14, 2021, Aroostook County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 2:58 a.m. that reported a man, later identified as Jacob "Jake" Wood, holding a knife to a woman’s throat at a residence on Scovil Street in Mars Hill, Maine. Deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with Wood.

Despite repeated commands to drop the knife, Wood did not comply. He was reportedly holding a knife to the woman’s throat, and the situation quickly escalated. Deputy Isaac Ward, fearing for the woman’s safety and the potential for further escalation, discharged his firearm, fatally wounding Wood.

The woman was unharmed, and after the shooting, she was able to safely exit the residence. Following the incident, the Maine Attorney General's Office conducted an investigation and determined that the use of deadly force was justified under the circumstances, as Wood did not comply with law enforcement commands and posed a potential threat to both officers and the woman involved.

On April 14, 2021, a Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation and suspected impaired driving. The driver, identified as Zacery Kane Antrim, fled through Henry and Delaware Counties before crashing into another vehicle at McGalliard Road and Tillotson Avenue in Muncie. The passenger, 25-year-old Nicholas Wayne Wollum, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both Antrim and the other driver, 47-year-old Shanta Sharrel Schmiesing, were transported to a hospital in critical condition. The Indiana State Police are investigating the pursuit and crash.

Around 12:40 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a man, Marcelo Garcia, suffering from a mental health crisis. Family members stated that Garcia had schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. On April 13, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic violence call in Saltlick Township, Fayette County. A woman had fled the residence and reported being assaulted and strangled by her husband, Keith Robert Tafoya. On 04/13/2021, San Diego police shot and killed 36 year old Christopher Templo Marquez following a prolonged standoff that moved through multiple parts of the city and ended near San Diego High School. Police reported that officers were searching for Marquez after reports of gunfire during an earlier encounter. Marquez took cover inside a dumpster on the school campus, where police maintained a perimeter for approximately 11 hours.
During the standoff, police stated that Marquez was accompanied by a woman. As the standoff continued, officers reported observing Marquez reposition the woman in a way they believed placed her at risk. Two police snipers opened fire, killing Marquez at the scene. The woman was not shot.

On 04/13/2021, Garden City police shot and killed 58 year old Thomas Andrew Bunde during a response to a domestic disturbance at a residence on North Quinella Court. Around 12:52 a.m., three patrol officers arrived at the home. Bunde exited the residence while holding a handgun and spoke to officers. During the encounter, officers opened fire. Bunde was shot by two officers and died at the scene.
The Ada County Prosecutor reviewed the shooting and ruled the officers’ use of deadly force justified. No criminal charges were filed against the officers involved.

On 04/13/2021, Honolulu police shot and killed 29 year old Lindani Myeni during an encounter outside a residence on Coelho Way. Body camera footage released later showed officers converging on Myeni at close range during the encounter. Shortly after the attempted stop, the vehicle clipped one house and crashed into another. Poelinitz was killed in the crash, and four other people in the vehicle were taken to the hospital. Fortunately, no one in either house was injured in the crash.

On April 12, 2021, officers from the Georgia State Patrol attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2015 Nissan Sentra for speeding at 111 mph on Interstate 20 in Bremen, Georgia. The driver, Aaron JuJuan Shelton, fled, and the officers escalated a high-speed pursuit through Carroll County. During the chase, the passenger, Pier Alexander Shelton, 28, leaned out of the vehicle and fired an AK-47-style rifle at pursuing officers, striking and disabling a patrol car. On April 12, 2021, at approximately 1:36 a.m., Angelina Sue Raad, a 38-year-old white female, was driving her vehicle the wrong way on the inner loop of New Circle Road near Harrodsburg Road in Lexington, Kentucky. She collided head-on with a police cruiser driven by Officer Dawn Miller, who was off duty and heading home after her shift. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles and transported to a local hospital. Raad was pronounced deceased at around 4 a.m., while Officer Miller sustained serious injuries but was reported to be in stable condition.

On April 11, 2021, officers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Findlay Police Department initiated a high-speed pursuit of a vehicle driven by Trevor Clark, 22, following a domestic violence incident in North Baltimore, Ohio. San Marcos Police Department officers responded to a report of a man walking in traffic on southbound I-35 around 12:19 a.m. Upon arrival, officers saw Rescue Eram walking along the retaining wall and crossing traffic.
