On March 5, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Columbus Police officers attempted to apprehend Andrew "Dru" Eugene Teague, 43, who was wanted on a felonious assault warrant related to a February 2 shooting incident. Upon noticing Teague was armed, officers discontinued the ground pursuit, but an aerial unit maintained visual contact. Teague subsequently drove northbound on I-270, then made a U-turn, proceeding southbound in the northbound lanes at high speeds. This maneuver resulted in head-on collisions with two vehicles. After the crashes, Teague exited his vehicle and exchanged gunfire with Columbus Police Officer John Kifer and Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Severance. Both officers opened fire, fatally wounding Teague.

On March 4, 2021, 18-year-old Bianca Michelle Trujillo-Lopez was driving on FM 2523 near Del Rio when a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to stop her for speeding. She fled, allegedly reaching speeds over 120 mph, lost control on a curve, and rolled the vehicle, ejecting a migrant passenger who was killed. The deceased's identity has not been released. Trujillo-Lopez and 28-year-old Isidrio Rodriguez Jr. were indicted on charges including conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death and serious bodily injury.

On 03/03/2021, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 1300 block of Greene Avenue in Abbeville, Louisiana, for a disturbance call. East Cleveland police attempted to stop a vehicle for erratic driving near Superior and Hayden avenues around 1 a.m. The driver did not stop. Officers escalated a chase that reached speeds of 70 mph on Euclid Avenue until the man lost control turning onto Lakeview Road and crashed into a utility pole. The 39-year-old male driver died in the crash. A 34-year-old woman in the car was injured and transported to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

On 03/01/2021, Chandra Moore, a 55-year-old male, was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Cincinnati police for the shooting of five people in Cincinnati on February 28, 2021, resulting in the deaths of his wife and two others. After fleeing to Detroit, Moore was located at the Rivertown Inn & Suites. The Detroit Police Department, aware of his location, set up surveillance and waited for him to leave the motel. At approximately 9: 50 a.m., Moore exited the building and approached his car. Upon noticing the police presence, he allegedly opened fire on the officers. In response, the officers returned fire, killing Moore. This incident followed Moore's flight from Cincinnati where he was involved in a mass shooting incident.

On 02/28/2021, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 4000 block of White Oak Drive in Evans, Georgia. Deputies made contact with 68-year-old Fred Bowman Trundle inside the home. Police said Trundle had a firearm during the encounter. Deputies discharged their weapons, striking him. On 02/27/2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Royal Oak Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 2700 block of Oliver Road. According to reporting, Jason Raymond Sugg’s father called 911 after an argument between the two escalated. Police stated that Sugg assaulted his father before retreating inside the home.
Officers established a perimeter and issued shelter-in-place alerts to nearby residents. The situation developed into a barricaded standoff that lasted several hours. Tactical units and negotiators responded to the scene.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., Sugg exited the residence. According to police statements, he was holding a rifle during the encounter. Officers fired their service weapons, striking him. Sugg was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where he later died from his injuries.

On 02/27/2021, an off-duty Georgia State Patrol trooper was inside a BP gas station at 448 Boulevard SE in Atlanta when a man ran into the store followed by 67-year-old Leroy Snead. According to reporting, Snead was holding a knife and pursuing the other individual inside the store.
The trooper identified himself and ordered Snead to drop the knife. The trooper moved outside the store, and Snead followed him out. Deputies arrived within minutes and encountered 32-year-old Rudy M. Duvivier outside the apartment complex. Authorities reported that Duvivier fired a weapon at responding deputies. Deputies returned fire, striking him.

On 02/26/2021, Page County Sheriff’s Deputy Dominic J. Winum initiated a traffic stop in the 700 block of Marksville Road in Stanley. As Winum stopped behind the vehicle, Dakota G. Richards exited his vehicle and fired multiple rounds, striking Winum. Winum died from his injuries.
Richards fled into nearby woods. Law enforcement agencies established a perimeter and conducted a search. Officers located Richards hiding in a barn. During the confrontation that followed, deputies opened fire and killed him.
The Virginia State Police led the investigation into both the shooting of Deputy Winum and the fatal shooting of Richards. Deputy Winum’s death was ruled a homicide. Richards died from gunshot wounds sustained during the confrontation.
