Moyer fled from his vehicle on foot while carrying a knife. A trooper opened fire, killing him at the scene. A female passenger attempted self-harm and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation is conducting an independent investigation.

On 06/14/2025, Alaska State Troopers arrived at a property on Gaunt Lane in Houston to serve a felony arrest warrant for 34-year-old Kyle Lambert. Troopers located Lambert hiding inside a camper on the property. According to law enforcement, Lambert refused orders to exit and allegedly produced a handgun as troopers entered the camper. Multiple troopers opened fire, fatally wounding him. A woman who was also inside the camper exited safely and was not injured. Thomas Bean, 36, was killed by police after firing a semi-automatic rifle at responding officers during a domestic disturbance call on Washington Drive. Police say Bean had already shot and killed 29-year-old Jesse Bidgood, who was dating Bean’s sister, prior to their arrival. Seven officers from Fairbanks Police and Alaska State Troopers returned fire after Bean shot at patrol vehicles. Two officers sustained minor shrapnel injuries. All involved officers were placed on administrative leave pending investigation.

On May 12, 2025, at approximately 11:37 p.m., Anchorage Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a defective headlight near the 300 block of Bragaw Street. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer on the passenger side observed a firearm in the driver's lap. After verbal communication, the officer discharged their weapon, fatally striking the driver, identified by family members as 42-year-old Utuva Alaelua. It is unclear whether Alaelua touched the firearm before the shooting. The incident is under investigation by the Anchorage Police Department and the Office of Special Prosecutions.

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 10:06 p.m., Alaska State Troopers received a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance involving a weapon at a residence in the Settlers Bay area of Wasilla. The man, identified as 34-year-old Brett George, allegedly threatened two adult family members with a weapon. As law enforcement officers from the Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, and Wasilla Police Department responded, the family members were able to escape the residence and leave the area. George then donned body armor and an assault rifle, and left the residence in a vehicle. A Wasilla police officer initiated a traffic stop on George's vehicle a short distance away, but George fled, leading to a pursuit. At the intersection of Knik Goose Bay Road and Settlers Bay Drive, George exited his vehicle and fired the assault rifle at the marked Wasilla police car. The Wasilla police officer returned fire, striking George, who was declared deceased at the scene. The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has assumed case responsibility, and the incident will be independently reviewed by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions.

On February 21, 2025, at approximately 5:07 a.m., Anchorage Police officers responded to a report of a barricaded individual in a hotel room on the 4300 block of Credit Union Drive. Initial information indicated a possible hostage situation. Upon arrival, officers established a perimeter and began containment while evacuating nearby rooms. The individual inside allegedly fired at officers during the early stages of the standoff, prompting the immediate activation of the Anchorage Police SWAT team.
SWAT arrived with armored vehicles, full tactical gear, and sniper-observer teams to cover all angles of the hotel. Negotiators attempted contact from protected positions while tactical units staged for entry. Surveillance drones and specialized camera systems were deployed to monitor windows and the hallway approach. SWAT personnel equipped with ballistic shields and breaching tools maintained positions at the entry point, prepared for a high-risk assault.
After extended unsuccessful negotiations and continuing armed threat indicators, SWAT initiated an entry into the hotel room. The man was armed, and SWAT members opened fire during the confrontation, fatally striking him. The scene was secured, and no hostages or officers were injured. Her mother, Terri Nierstheimer, revealed that Ashley had been living "in a very dark place" since 2011, following the deaths of close family members. On June 19, 2024, officers responded to a report of a woman, Lisa Fordyce-Blair, in a mental health crisis, allegedly threatening a neighbor with a rifle. This incident marked the fourth police-related fatality in Anchorage within the span of a month. A man with a rifle allegedly tried to break into a hotel room. Alaska State Police arrived and shot and killed him. He was identified as Timothy Thomas, age 21. His family stated that the same trooper had previously twice arrested Thomas. Police state that the same trooper was present when Thomas' father died from suicide under police duress during a standoff. This is denied by police.

According to family, he had purchased a gun legally and had walked back to the hotel where he was staying. He did not break into any rooms but instead tried to enter a room that he had rented with his cousins who were asleep. Mark Christopher Cook Jr., 27, was remanded in Hoonah on misdemeanor charges in early April 2023 while awaiting back surgery. Due to severe back pain, he was transferred to Lemon Creek Correctional Center in Juneau for medical care. Instead of receiving the necessary treatment, Cook was placed in solitary confinement. On April 23, 2023, he was found unresponsive in his cell and later died. Cook, a Tlingit and adopted into the Haida nation, held the name GuudGiwi, Baby Eagle, Stastass clan.

Carl Robert Aahanaq Ravenscroft drowned after being chased into a water-filled gravel pit by Fairbanks officers.
A Fairbanks officer believed 34-year-old Carl Ravenscroft had been drinking or using drugs and tried to traffic-stop him. He drove away when police tried to stop him. Police escalated a chase and he drove onto the end of a road into a steep gravel pit and his car was submerged in deep water. Police allege that he got out of the vehicle but went under the water’s surface as he tried to swim to the shore.He drowned.
