On March 7, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Massachusetts State Police officers located 33-year-old Jeremy Gudorf in his vehicle at the Wonderland MBTA Station parking lot in Revere. Gudorf, a JetBlue pilot from Xenia, Ohio, was wanted on charges of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in North Carolina. As officers approached, Gudorf produced a firearm and shot himself. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Gudorf had previously been arrested on February 20, 2025, at Boston's Logan International Airport but was released on bail with conditions to appear in North Carolina, which he failed to meet.

On December 11, 2024, the Boston Police Department responded to a call about a man who had locked himself inside the Continuum apartment building in the Allston neighborhood. Officers evacuated residents as a precaution and initiated negotiations with the individual. After nearly 12 hours of attempted negotiation, the individual was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On July 6, 2024, at approximately 10:50 a.m., officers from Westerly Police Department spotted Joseph Francis, 45, driving a black Chevrolet Suburban on Route 1 North near the intersection of Route 78. Despite multiple attempts to stop him, Francis evaded law enforcement.

At 11:36 a.m., officers from the Richmond and Charlestown Police Departments attempted to stop Francis again on Route 2 North in Charlestown. During the pursuit, Francis drove west on Dawley Park Road at a high rate of speed. He missed the turn at the intersection of Dawley Park Road and Nooseneck Hill Road, causing his vehicle to roll over and come to rest on its roof in the woods.

Considering Francis to be armed and dangerous, officers maintained their positions until the Rhode Island State Police Tactical Team confirmed the scene was safe. Upon approach, they found Francis deceased inside the vehicle. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.

On May 26, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Pittsfield Police officers initiated a chase after John Francis Tyska, 34, when he ran a red light on West Street at a speed of 60-70 mph while riding a dirt bike. The pursuit continued as Tyska traveled westbound on Housatonic Street, and at the intersection of 664 Housatonic Street, he collided with a 2022 Honda Ridgeline. Tyska was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision led to the closure of Housatonic Street from Osceola Street to Cadwell Road for approximately four hours to facilitate the investigation and clear the roadway.

On May 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers from the Raynham Police Department responded to a welfare check at the King Philip Street Apartments following a call from Stephen Maclean's girlfriend. She reported that Maclean had been acting aggressively after being fired from his job for arriving intoxicated and was exhibiting belligerent behavior.

Upon arrival, officers knocked on Maclean's apartment door. When he opened the door and pointed a handgun at them, two officers discharged their firearms, fatally wounding Maclean. A third officer deployed a taser. Officers immediately administered first aid until paramedics arrived. Maclean was transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was pronounced dead.

Officer Paul Tracey was working at a road construction site when a vehicle made a U-turn on the road, hit a vehicle, kept driving, hit and killed Officer Paul Tracey and a 36-year-old construction worker on the road, then pulled a knife and at knife point stole a police cruiser and drove away in it. At approximately 12:10 p.m. on 11/29/2022, a Haverhill PD detective observed a motorcyclist pull into the Seven Eleven gas station at 503 River St. without a helmet. The motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured. The motorcyclist then fled the scene on foot and the detective pursued him on foot.
Kimball said other Haverhill Police units were called to help apprehend the man, who ran behind a building at 337 River St. Police followed the man and found him deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Kimball said. He was not publicly identified.
