On October 21, 2025, around 1 a.m., officers with the Jersey City Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit encountered a man acting suspiciously on Bergen Avenue. Police said the man drew a firearm and opened fire at them. Officers opened fire and struck him. On 07/06/2025, a Perth Amboy Police lieutenant attempted to stop three individuals on motorized scooters near State Street and High Street. Two riders fled, and one briefly stopped before accelerating away toward Woodbridge Township. The lieutenant then allegedly ended the pursuit and shortly after, Woodbridge Township Police responded to a crash on State Street between Arbor Street and Ferry Street, where they found the scooter driver dead at the scene. On 03/10/2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a man shot his neighbors, Tom and Jill Kwatkoski, following a prolonged dispute. Adamo shot Tom outside his home and then shot Jill inside their residence. Both victims were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in critical but stable condition. After the shooting, he barricaded himself inside his home, leading to a two-and-a-half-hour standoff with the Berkeley Township Police Department's SWAT team. When officers forced entry, they found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom. A pressure cooker located near him was determined not to be an explosive device. Neighbors reported he had longstanding conflicts with the victims.

Fort Lee PD were sent to assist in a mental health crisis. They allege that they found a "woman with a knife" after forcing entry into a home. Police shot and killed her in her home. Police tried to traffic-stop a vehicle that fled and crashed, killing the driver. After the crash, police stated they did not know if they were chasing him or not.

Armond Avitable had allegedly shot and killed a woman and fled without the gun. Police located him and apparently beat him and he died during arrest. It was discovered by the Morris County medical examiner that he had a gunshot wound to the torso, apparently also inflicted during arrest.

Agents from the US Marshals Service and ATF arrived at a motel on Promenade Boulevard to arrest a man for undisclosed felony offenses. They engaged in a shootout with the man and shot and killed him. Police did not identify him publicly.
