Deputies in Highlands County attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign andgot a 911 call from a woman who said she was being held in the car. Ramon Martinez, 37, was a passenger in the vehicle and was believed to be forcing the woman to keep driving. Martinez eventually put the vehicle back in drive and tried to spin tires to get himself unstuck. Then Martinez allegedly began shooting at the SWAT team after chemical agents were deployed in the vehicle. He was shot and killed.

Greensboro PD were called to check on a man who was carrying knives or a machete around. When they approached, the man ran away. Police hunted him for 1.5 miles along the creek bed, shooting him with beanbags and tasers. At some point in the assault on him, Ruiz allegedly turned around, still holding a knife. Sgt. Andrew Muldowney, Officers Jonathan L. Greene and Gage A. Kirkland all shot and killed him.

Police allege that they were driving patrol when Darryl Gamble fired at them twice from a semiautomatic weapon, hitting the patrol car. Darryl Gamble, 40, was to appear in court with an officer testifying against him. That same officer ended up being one of the shooters who killed him on Wednesday night before he could go to court. There was a warrant for his arrest at the time of his death for drug possession and the officers who were on patrol that night and killed him were drug enforcement cops.

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office stated that a 23-year-old armed man abducted a 7-month-old baby girl. He had been in a relationship with the baby’s mother. The North Baltimore Police Chief had initially responded to a domestic dispute and said the person was homicidal and suicidal, threatening the child’s life. The baby’s mother was tracking the person’s location through her phone and passing the information on. An off-duty officer saw the vehicle and police tried to pull them over but the person led officers on a chase. He eventually accelerated at a high speed and veered off the road, hitting a house on Sandusky Street at full-speed.
Authorities surrounded the vehicle and broke the back window to get the baby out. Police say the 7-month-old was bleeding and had shallow breathing. The person was extricated from the vehicle and both were taken to an area hospital for treatment. According to Tiffin Police, the infant died from her injuries. The man is in critical condition.

A motorcycle driver died in the hospital following a police chase that ended in a wreck in Wayne County. A Perry County deputy in the Richton area had tried to stop Henry Edward Pittman on MS-42 and initiated a traffic stop, but the motorcycle driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase. The Ozark CountySheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a trespassing in Baxter County at a residence on State Highway 201 North. Minutes later, the sheriff’s office received a second call about a loud disturbance at the same residence with people shouting and arguing.
Baxter County deputies arrived on the scene at approximately 10:10 a.m. and saw a man leaving on a motorcycle. The motorcycle traveled down Baxter County Road 35, and the deputies escalated a chase. The motorcycle and one of the deputy’s vehicles collided. The motorcyclist died.

Adrián Hernández, a third party motorist, was killed after being struck by a vehicledriven by a teen trying to flee police in a stolen car in a West Valley City residential area. The Othello Police Department came to arrest 29-year-old Ramon O. Morfin of Warden, Washington, for alleged harassment. Morfin was also wanted on an outstanding state Department of Corrections warrant. An Othello police officer and 3 Adams County deputies went to his work place in the 700 block of South Kulm Road, Othello, Washington, to arrest him. The officer and deputies made contact with Morfin outside the business. During the attempted arrest, Morfin unexpectedly opened fire at the group of officers. They shot and killed him.

A 2015 Dodge Avenger passenger car on State Highway 36 was being chased by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Two vehicles were on the side of the road, a disabled car and a pedestrian attempting to connect a tow chain between the two vehicles with the pedestrian lying under the front of the Buick when the fleeing vehicle being chased by policelost control of the vehicle and crashing into the Buick and the Mercury.
The pedestrian, Daniel Jerome Schafer, was pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. It is unknown why Hamilton County deputies conducted this fatal chase.
