The driver Trayvon Antwan Ford did not stop. CHP escalated a high-speed freeway chase, reaching speeds up to 127 miles per hour, exiting and re-entering the freeway several times, with Ford ultimately crashing at the I-15 offramp. The Jeep rolled and two passengers were ejected with significant injuries. Trayvon Ford died at the hospital. A man called NYPD and said someone was breaking into the home of his elderly uncle in Brooklyn. Police arrived and the elderly man opened the door to police with a gun. JSO responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Copper Springs Road on the Southside at 12:30 a.m. A woman was reportedly trapped inside a bedroom with a man “terrorizing her” with a knife. After she escaped the building through a master bedroom window, SWAT bore down on the apartment with a standoff. SWAT fired gas into the home and the man ran out.

David Earl Kingsley was on his way to the dog park with his beloved dog Nakita just before 5 a.m. A car driven by off-duty Metro Officer Benjamin Coreas collided with him forcefully, gravely injuring the man. His dog was confiscated by police as Kingsley went to the ICU. Kingsley languished in the hospital for several more days before he died. Police arrived at the family home and confiscated all of Nakita’s puppies, announcing all dogs would be placed for adoption because having unregistered puppies violated Las Vegas city ordinance. The officer was finally also arrested. After a public outcry, the family was given back the dog and puppies several weeks later. On April 11, 20-year-old Brandon Zapata died less than an hour after he was restrained and handcuffed by security officers at La Gran Plaza shopping center in south Fort Worth. The confrontation was recorded on bystander video and Zapata’s family alleges that security which included an off-duty Fort Worth police officer used excessive force and were recorded kneeling on Zapata’s back as they hold him face-down on the floor and he kicks his legs. Family members state they still do not know why he was targeted by police. Police claim that Zapata was “acting erratically” and security guards including the off-duty Fort Worth officer restrained him and put him in handcuffs. He died. He had been seen struggling to breathe during the arrest.
The family alleges that he had asthma, was seen suffering and asked for water which he was denied. The family believes that the security officers’ actions may have impeded his breathing.

Police received a call by a woman to 911 inside a home on Lindsey Place about a family hostage situation. The caller wanted police to assist with removing the children from the residence.
When police heard gun fire, SWAT entered the home, found Oliver dead behind the front door and shortly after, they found his 19-year-old stepson dead. In addition to the men, there were also two girls age 14 and 16 at the scene. Antonio Oliver, 40, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the front door of the home under police duress.
