On 11/27/2022, Dearborn police and Michigan State Police were attempting to stop a black Dodge Charger connected to an endangered missing persons investigation out of Tennessee. The vehicle, driven by 36-year-old Dominique Hardwick of Lebanon, Tennessee, fled and crashed into a home near Normile Street and Tireman Avenue on the Detroit-Dearborn border. Officers issued verbal commands and at some point exchanged gunfire with the driver. After the crash and shooting, officers found Hardwick in the driver’s seat with a fatal gunshot wound. An autopsy later determined the wound was self-inflicted. A 34-year-old female front-seat passenger was injured in the crash and taken to a hospital.
