On 11/24/2022 around 9:35 p.m., Clayton County police responded after a domestic call that originated with Henry County authorities. Officers attempted a welfare check related to a reported domestic dispute and possible kidnapping. Edwards was located by Jonesboro police in a vehicle and fled, leading responders into a cul-de-sac in the 8000 block of South Bay Court in Riverdale. After his vehicle struck a bush and stopped, officers approached and heard multiple gunshots from inside. Responding officers found Edwards’ young daughter in the front seat with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead. Edwards suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

On 11/22/2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Internal Revenue Service executed a search warrant at a home on Wyndham Hall Lane in Farragut, Tennessee, with assistance from local law enforcement. When agents and officers entered the residence, they discovered a woman who had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead. During an investigation about a possibly stolen car, officer Justin Stephens from Clayton County Sheriff’s Office approached Eric Holmes, spoke with him whereupon Holmes got into the car and drove away. Multiple officers began shooting at the car which drove off the road. Holmes was shot in his back and died. There is no report about him having been armed or dangerous to police. Family report that they have been denied viewing of the BWC footage and access to further information. Officer Justin Stephens resigned and was not charged.

Martin John Bradley, 65, was a Round Rock resident who lived at the Bradford Park Drive home where he was reportedly the primary aggressor in the initial domestic disturbance involving his daughter and grandchild. An officer who arrived at the domestic violence call was Sgt. Christian Wilson who arrived at a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 3000-block of Bradford Park Drive. When his daughter with 1-year-old baby escaped, police withdrew and at that time heard a shot from the residence. Round Rock PD Sgt. Wilson saw Bradley with a gun on the back porch and shot and killed him.

On November 19, 2022, at approximately 12:24 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a reported armed robbery near Southeast Powell Boulevard and 50th Avenue. Officers pursued a vehicle they believed matched the description to the Reedwood Friends Church parking lot at 2901 SE Steele Street. As officers approached, Immanueal “Manny” Clark, a 30-year-old Black male, fled on foot. Officer Christopher Sathoff fired three shots, striking Clark once in the lower back. Clark was transported to a hospital, where he died two days later.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Clark was unarmed and not connected to the reported robbery. A grand jury declined to indict Officer Sathoff. However, an internal affairs investigation found the shooting violated bureau directives, though command staff later dismissed this finding. Clark's family has filed a federal lawsuit alleging excessive force and wrongful death.

On 11/19/2022, the Shawano Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 900 block of South Lafayette Street. Officers encountered Lucas L. Christenson inside the home. During the confrontation, an officer fired his weapon and shot Christenson. He was transported for medical treatment but died from his injuries. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation reviewed the shooting. The Shawano County District Attorney later determined the officer was legally justified in using deadly force under Wisconsin law.

On 11/19/2022, officers from the Town of Niagara Police Department responded to a 911 domestic disturbance call placed by Daniel Kachinoski and his mother at their residence on Chester Avenue in the Town of Niagara. Upon arrival, officers spoke separately to Mr. Kachinoski and his mother. Mr. Kachinoski became agitated, ignored repeated commands, and refused to comply with officers’ instructions. Officers attempted to use Tasers, which had no effect. Mr. Kachinoski picked up a chair and later a knife and advanced toward an officer with the knife raised. At that point, a Town of Niagara officer fired his service weapon and struck Mr. Kachinoski. Emergency medical responders arrived and Mr. Kachinoski was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds. The New York State Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation reviewed the case and concluded that a prosecutor would not be able to disprove beyond a reasonable doubt that the officer’s use of deadly force was justified under New York law. A knife was recovered at the scene.

Dexter Barry had a heart transplant and was on anti-rejection medicines. Jacksonville deputies arrested him and held him without charges and he urged them to give him his anti-rejection medicine without which he would die. At approximately 7:40 a.m. Friday, a trooper observed an eastbound Jeep Wrangler driving on the shoulder near mile marker 354 on Interstate 80. The trooper attempted a traffic stop, but the driver continued and the trooper escalated a chase to 100 mph. The vehicle exited and then entered a field and continued fleeing southbound. When the vehicle drove through a fence and continued into a pasture and York County and Seward County deputies then picked up the chase until the driver's vehicle hit a bridge guardrail and crashed, ejecting both occupants, killing Melissa Hernandez.

On 11/18/2022, the Memphis Police Department responded to a barricade situation at a home on Heartland Lane in Southwest Memphis. Officers arrived at the residence around 3 p.m. after reports of a man barricading himself inside with family members. While negotiators were on site for several hours, members of the suspect’s family were safely released, including his young daughter. In the evening, a SWAT team entered the home and found the man and his father deceased. Police confirmed that the man had shot himself during the standoff. Officers were actively engaged in resolving the barricade and hostage risk when the self-inflicted gunshot occurred. Family members reported the man had struggled with mental health issues in the year prior.

On 11/18/2022, members of a joint federal, state, and NYPD strike force were conducting an undercover narcotics operation in the Inwood section of Manhattan at 72 Vermilyea Avenue. Police attempted to execute a drug buy and entry into an apartment where contraband was seen. As officers entered Apartment 1B and identified themselves as police, Manuel Kelvin Beras Medina pulled a firearm from his waistband, chambered a round, and fired at law enforcement. Officers returned fire and struck Medina multiple times. He died from gunshot wounds sustained during the encounter. A second male in the apartment, later identified as Jeffry Silvestre, was taken into custody and later charged with narcotics and firearms offenses. The New York State Attorney General’s Office of Special Investigation concluded that a prosecutor would not be able to disprove beyond a reasonable doubt that officers’ use of deadly force was justified under New York law.

Demopolis PD tried a traffic stop on Tristan Charles Melton due to a warrant. He refused to stop and officers escalated a chase and conducted a PIT maneuver which resulted in a crash. When Melton emerged, officers claim he was shooting. Police shot and killed him.

Roberto Armijo was pulled over by New Mexico State Police for a traffic stop and refused to come out of the car for hours. Police flattened his tires and he eventually came out holding a machete and shield and was shot and killed.

Per police statement, Nicholas Mitchell knocked on the door of the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, spoke with a deputy and pulled out a gun and shot the deputy. Deputy Eric Kocheran shot and killed him.
