Bowie was identified as the driver of a 2008 Infinity Sedan spotted at the Fleet Truck Repair on Charleston Highway in Cayce after stealing items from multiple vehicles at the businesses. He refused to pull over for officers who escalated a chase.
Bowie got off I-26 West onto I-77 North before taking exit 5 (Bluff Road) on I-77 before turning left onto Pineview Rd. He was killed on impact when he ran a red light at the intersection of Pineview and Shop Rd and hit another car.

On 07/08/2022, Fargo Police responded to a call about individuals slumped over inside a minivan in a garage on the 3400 block of 15th Avenue South. When officers arrived, Shane Netterville, 28, started driving the van forward toward them. Officer Adam O’Brien fired his weapon, striking Netterville. He was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead. The North Dakota Attorney General’s office and Fargo Police concluded the use of force was justified, and no charges were filed. Three years later, in 2025, Netterville’s family held a memorial at Springvale Cemetery. His brother, Ryan Netterville, described the lasting emotional toll on the family, including their loss of trust in police and repeated encounters with law enforcement during city meetings and public events. The family continues to call for an independent investigation into Shane’s death, which the Fargo Police Advisory Board voted against pursuing in December 2022.

Police received a call about a shoplifting and assault and claim that when they arrived, Roderick Brooks fled. Police tried to tase him but he allegedly took the Taser from police. Officer Garrett Hardin shot him at close range in the back of the neck, killing him. Family states that the bodycam video does not match the police narrative. Officer Garrett was placed on desk duty and indicted. On 11/4/2024, he was found not guilty.

Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit agents tried to make a traffic stop using the excuse of too dark window tint on Tyrance Benbow. Officers felt if they had gotten a tip that he was going to make some drug purchases, and they attempted to stop him. He sped away and police chased him, attacked him with a PIT maneuver, several times and rear ended him, resulting in a fatal crash that killed him.

Roanoke Police received a report of a potentially suicidal man with a firearm in the 4600 block of Long Acre Drive NE having left the area by car. Police knew that the man had an active felony warrant in another jurisdiction and the description of the vehicle was aired via APB to all Patrol Units.
An officer found the car in the area of Orange Avenue and Williamson Road NE and he began to follow the vehicle and also saw that there was a passenger in the car. The officer attempted a traffic stop but the pursuit continued out of the City of Roanoke
Patrol units deployed pursuit stop sticks but the driver continued fleeing. The driver finally lost control of the vehicle and crashed in the 3100 block of Read Mountain Road in Botetourt County. The driver committed suicide under police duress.

Nicholas “Bubby” Keifer was killed after crashing his motorcycle on Route 63 in Bethany near Fargo Road as a result of a high-speed police chase. Just before impact, police allege that they called off the chase. A Genesee County deputy located the motorcycle on its side in a field along with the motorcyclist who died.
