On 03/05/2021, the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) responded to a report of an armed individual inside the Old No. 77 Hotel at 535 Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Police alleged the individual was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Jefferson Parish earlier that day and was reportedly armed and suicidal.

Police escalated a seven-hour standoff, and the NOPD activated its SWAT team to assist. At around 9:15 PM, after a prolonged period under siege, police deployed a robot to breach the room. The man was found dead on the bathroom floor with an allegedly self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At 2:30 a.m., a deputy attempted to stop Timothy A. Tatum, riding a Honda Shadow, for a registration violation. When the deputy activated his lights and sirens, Tatum fled. Less than a half-mile from where the pursuit began, Tatum hit a raised median and was killed.

On 03/05/2021, police in Maple Plain attempted to pull a man over for speeding and driving erratically. The man continued driving, passing through multiple jurisdictions before being knocked off the road by a Ramsey County sheriff deputy at North McKnight Road. Two shots reportedly were fired from the driver's seat. As officers approached, the man appeared to be unconscious from a head wound. Police said he fatally shot himself.

At 4:07 p.m., deputies from the Alachua County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gunshots at 2325 SE 46th Terrace. Dispatchers could hear gunshots during the call and were informed that at least one person had been shot. Gregory Williams allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, who had recently given birth, and fired shots at other family members before deputies arrived. Upon arrival, Williams began shooting at deputies. Deputies Fred Thomas, Richard Howell, Andy Adams, and Alex Acosta shot and killed Williams. A person located one street over was also wounded during the incident.

Around 1:45 a.m., a Grand Prairie police officer identified a stolen Ford F-350, leading to a pursuit into Dallas. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office joined the chase. At Ross Avenue and North Peak Street, the driver of the stolen truck, 18-year-old Ramiro Sotelo, ran a red light and collided with another vehicle, killing its driver. The identity of the bystander killed in the crash has not been released.

On March 5, 2021, U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest 44-year-old Justin Lynn at the Comfort Inn in Odessa, Texas, for a federal bond violation related to methamphetamine distribution. During the attempted arrest, Lynn was shot and killed. Details regarding whether Lynn fired at officers or was armed at the time of the incident have not been disclosed.

On March 5, 2021, deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office identified a stolen vehicle being driven by William Joseph Thomas, 38, in Dayton, Ohio. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, Thomas fled, initiating a pursuit. The chase ended when Thomas collided with another vehicle on Needmore Road. He sustained critical injuries in the crash and later died. No other significant injuries were reported.

On March 5, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Columbus Police officers attempted to apprehend Andrew "Dru" Eugene Teague, 43, who was wanted on a felonious assault warrant related to a February 2 shooting incident. Upon noticing Teague was armed, officers discontinued the ground pursuit, but an aerial unit maintained visual contact. Teague subsequently drove northbound on I-270, then made a U-turn, proceeding southbound in the northbound lanes at high speeds. This maneuver resulted in head-on collisions with two vehicles. After the crashes, Teague exited his vehicle and exchanged gunfire with Columbus Police Officer John Kifer and Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Severance. Both officers opened fire, fatally wounding Teague.

On March 4, 2021, 18-year-old Bianca Michelle Trujillo-Lopez was driving on FM 2523 near Del Rio when a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper attempted to stop her for speeding. She fled, allegedly reaching speeds over 120 mph, lost control on a curve, and rolled the vehicle, ejecting a migrant passenger who was killed. The deceased's identity has not been released. Trujillo-Lopez and 28-year-old Isidrio Rodriguez Jr. were indicted on charges including conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death and serious bodily injury.

On 03/03/2021, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the 1300 block of Greene Avenue in Abbeville, Louisiana, for a disturbance call. Police encountered Dwight Brown, 41, and engaged in an altercation. During the fight, police opened fire and killed Brown. The circumstances leading to the fatal shooting have not been disclosed. Brown was pronounced dead at the location.

On March 3, 2021, Jonathan Levi Allen, 28, who was wanted on a parole violation, was reportedly shooting at people and buildings from his SUV in Muncie, Indiana. On March 3, 2021, Houston police officers identified a vehicle suspected in a robbery. The driver, Broderick Woods, 33, failed to stop, leading to a pursuit that ended when Woods crashed at a gas station in the 7900 block of Southwest Freeway. Woods exited his vehicle and attempted to carjack another vehicle occupied by a mother, Daisha Smalls, who was refueling her car with her 1-year-old son, Legend, inside. Officers approached and reportedly saw Woods with a weapon. Officer E. Garza fired multiple shots, killing Woods and inadvertently striking the child, Legend, who was in the back seat. On 03/02/2021, Barrington Police officers responded to a residence at 33 Cortland Way after reports of gunfire directed at an officer. The situation escalated into an hours-long standoff with Daniel Forrest Peavey, 58, barricaded inside the home. When police entered the home, Peavey was found deceased. On 03/01/2021, Chandra Moore, a 55-year-old male, was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Cincinnati police for the shooting of five people in Cincinnati on February 28, 2021, resulting in the deaths of his wife and two others. After fleeing to Detroit, Moore was located at the Rivertown Inn & Suites. The Detroit Police Department, aware of his location, set up surveillance and waited for him to leave the motel. At approximately 9: 50 a.m., Moore exited the building and approached his car. Upon noticing the police presence, he allegedly opened fire on the officers. In response, the officers returned fire, killing Moore. This incident followed Moore's flight from Cincinnati where he was involved in a mass shooting incident.

On February 28, 2021, Joseph Dugan, a 17-year-old white male, and Farrah Rauch, also 17, both juniors at Blair High School in Nebraska, were involved in an attempted carjacking in Muskogee, Oklahoma. After failing to steal one vehicle, they successfully stole another. A Muskogee Police Department officer spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over. Police escalated the situation into a pursuit, which ended in a crash.
Following the crash, Dugan and Rauch fled the scene on foot. During the foot chase, police engaged Rauch in a shootout . He was fatally shot by police. Dugan continued to flee into a wooded area, where he reportedly shot and killed himself as officers closed in. The Muskogee Police Department is investigating the incident.

On February 27, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Kentucky State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop in the community of Malone, Kentucky. During the stop, the trooper requested assistance from the Morgan County Sheriff's Department and the West Liberty Police Department. Jerry Lynn Roseberry, a 48-year-old man, exited the vehicle with a firearm and refused commands to drop the weapon. A West Liberty police officer opened fire, striking Roseberry. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Morgan County Coroner. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting.

Deputies from the Clay County Sheriff's Office responded around 10:50 p.m. to an apartment complex at 2121 Burwick Avenue after receiving multiple calls about shots fired. Deputies arrived approximately five minutes later and encountered Rudy M. Duvivier, who was armed and opened fire on them. The deputies returned fire, shooting and killing Duvivier.

On February 27, 2021, Schertz Police Department officers responded to a report of a deceased individual in the 300 block of Judith Ann Drive. Upon arrival, they found 45-year-old Kristen Slack, of Universal City, dead in the front yard from multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect, 46-year-old Todd Danhof, had locked himself inside the residence. After establishing a perimeter, officers heard a single gunshot from within. Upon entry, they discovered Danhof deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On February 26, 2021, Officer Dominic J. Winum initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. Before he could exit his patrol vehicle, the driver, Dakota G. Richards, exited his vehicle and opened fire, killing Officer Winum. Richards fled the scene into nearby woods. Police later found him hiding in a barn. Richards allegedly made a threatening movement, and deputies shot and killed him in response.

On February 26, 2021, around 1 a.m., the Liberty Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a woman walking on US-27 South in Liberty, Indiana. Officer Lorenzo Shepler arrived and found Maggie Ann Dickerson, 29, standing in the middle of the road. When Officer Shepler approached Dickerson and attempted to move her, she allegedly resisted, leading to a struggle. During the altercation, Dickerson reportedly pulled out a knife and advanced toward the officer, who then shot and killed her.

On 02/26/2021, officers from the Duluth Police Department were called to a residence in response to what they were told was "a physical domestic" incident. The officers were warned that a man wanted on felony warrants was inside and refusing to surrender. A woman also was in the home, but she left when police arrived. Following a lengthy standoff, police shot and killed David Conwell.

On February 26, 2021, Kalispell Police responded to reports of a red SUV ramming multiple vehicles. The vehicle was found unoccupied at a gas station. Isaiah Strong allegedly assaulted Officer Brady Gray inside the gas station after emerging from the bathroom, using a wooden object to strike her. He then attacked another individual in the store before assaulting the officer again, hitting her in the upper body and head. Following this second assault, Officer Gray opened fire, killing Strong, while also shooting and injuring an uninvolved person in the store with police bullets.

On February 26, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Thomas William Mack, 39, arrived at the residence of his child's mother near Gabriel and Hudson streets in San Antonio, Texas. He allegedly shot a man who emerged from the house. When the first responding officer arrived, Mack reportedly held a firearm, prompting the officer to retreat. Additional officers arrived and maintained a distance while attempting to persuade Mack to drop his weapon. After 15 to 20 minutes, officers attempted to subdue him with a stun gun. Mack allegedly fired twice at the officers, leading five officers to return fire, resulting in his death.

On February 25, 2021, deputies with the Culpeper County Sheriff's Office responded to a welfare check request at a residence on Horseshoe Drive. Upon arrival, officers encountered Donald Francis Hairston in an agitated state. Hairston fled into the home and barricaded himself inside. He later emerged from the house armed with a gun, and shots were fired at the officers. In response, a deputy shot and killed Hairston.

On February 25, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., a deputy with the Augusta County Sheriff's Office was traveling westbound on VA-42 when he noticed a vehicle approaching quickly from behind. The vehicle tailgated the deputy, passed him on a double-yellow line, and accelerated to 85 mph. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle but began a pursuit when the driver allegedly improperly passed another motorist and drove on the wrong side of the road, reaching speeds of 80-100 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle, a 1993 Lincoln Town Car driven by Ronald Alvin Colvin, which ran off the road, struck a mailbox, spun across the road, hit a ditch, became airborne, and hit a utility pole. Colvin was killed in the crash.

On 02/25/2021, around 9: 22 p.m., officers from the Baltimore Police Department's Inner Harbor unit were flagged down in the area of Market and Pratt streets following a non-fatal shooting. One officer provided aid to the victim, while others pursued a man who fled into the Harbor Park Garage. On the ramp into the garage, the man, identified as Benjamin D. Tyson, allegedly turned around, produced a handgun, and attempted to fire it. Multiple officers then shot and killed Tyson.

A person reported to the police station claiming to be a victim of domestic violence and alleged they had been assaulted with a firearm. The victim identified Alonte Murphy as the alleged assailant. Around 5 p.m., police observed Murphy arriving in a car. Murphy was reportedly armed with a semiautomatic handgun and exchanged gunfire with officers. Law enforcement shot and killed Murphy.

U.S. Marshal's Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, responded to the scene. Stambaugh exited the home holding a firearm. Officers opened fire, killing him.

On February 23, 2021, around 1:15 p.m., a man met with a woman in the courtyard of a housing services program in Seattle's Central District. The man allegedly made threatening statements before pulling out a gun and firing at the woman, who managed to escape without injury. After the attempted shooting, the man fatally shot himself at the scene.

On February 23, 2021, around 7:30 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies and Eagle Point Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 100 block of Idlewood Drive in Eagle Point. Before officers arrived, 39-year-old Dale Arthur Amstutz-Dunn left the location in an SUV with another man. Police stopped the vehicle on Stevens Road near Idlewood Drive, in the parking lot of Church on the Hill. Amstutz-Dunn produced a firearm and shot a deputy in the chest; however, the deputy's body armor prevented serious injury. During the ensuing shootout, Amstutz-Dunn diedfrom alleged suicide. A grand jury later found that the officers' use of force was justified.
