On June 17, 2021, Moon Township police responded to a domestic disturbance involving John Geisler, 37, and his mother. Geisler threatened to shoot his mother and any officers who arrived. After fleeing the scene, he was located in his vehiclewith a gun and rammed a police car before fleeing again. A SWAT team surrounded his residence, and after several hours during which flash bang grenades were fired inside, Geisler was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
