At approximately 5 a.m. on June 23, 2021, a deputy encountered Robert Alan Blackburn, who was allegedly armed with a knife on County Road 742 in Corinth, Mississippi. On June 20, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputy Matthew Cox of the Graham County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by 31-year-old Mickey Ray Rice for minor infractions, including an improper left turn and a broken taillight. While Deputy Cox processed Rice's information, Rice fled, initiating a high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of up to 100 mph. The woman reported a physical disturbance with her boyfriend, Tyler Hodge. The woman told officers she believed Hodge had left. Hodge's vehicle was at the home, so the officers began checking the home and property. The two officers found Hodge seated in a detached shed in the backyard, armed with a rifle. Hodge ran toward the officers and fired multiple shots. During an exchange of gunfire in which a deputy was wounded, police shot and killed Hodge.

On June 17, 2021, U.S. Border Patrol agents attempted to stop a vehicle suspected of carrying migrants on SR-85 north of Lukeville, Arizona. A vehicle immobilization device was deployed, the driver lost control, and the crash killed the driver. On 06/18/2021, San Diego County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a suspicious person in a vacant lot on Eolus Avenue in Encinitas. Deputies made contact with Eric Scott Anderson at the location. Police reported that Anderson displayed a handgun during the encounter. Deputies opened fire and shot Anderson, killing him at the scene. Anderson was 40 years old. Authorities released limited information about the events leading up to deputies opening fire. The San Diego County District Attorney later ruled the shooting justified.

On 06/18/2021, Douglasville police responded around 4:06 a.m. to a call at the Crestmark Apartments on Crestmark Boulevard in Lithia Springs. Officers encountered Carlos Jackson in the breezeway of an apartment building. Police stated that Jackson was holding a rifle during the encounter. An officer opened fire and shot Jackson. Jackson then fell from the second floor of the building and moved away from the apartment complex toward nearby wooded property. Several hours later, Jackson was located deceased in the woods behind the complex. He was 43 years old. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assumed control of the case to examine the police shooting. Reporting indicated that body-worn camera footage exists and that Jackson’s family later viewed the footage during a meeting with police.

On 06/18/2021, Hawaii police responded to a reported break in at a residence on Kilauea Road in Hilo. Officers entered the home and located Daniel Buckingham inside a bedroom. Police reported that Buckingham was holding two knives during the encounter. Officers engaged Buckingham, and one officer sustained an arm injury during the interaction. Police opened fire and shot Buckingham, killing him at the scene. Buckingham was 31 years old. The investigation into the police shooting was reported as pending at the time of coverage.

On 06/18/2021, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Everett Stern, 63, was struck and killed by a marked Atlantic City Police Department patrol vehicle at the intersection of N Arkansas Avenue and Arctic Avenue. The officer driving the vehicle was reportedly responding to a routine call for service and did not have lights or sirens activated at the time of the collision.

On 06/17/2021, Holly Springs police initiated a traffic stop on Ansy Dolce on Harmony Lake Drive near Hickory Road. During the stop, police reported that Dolce drove forward while an officer was positioned at the vehicle, dragging the officer along the roadway. Police stated that Officer Joe Burson opened fire during the encounter, striking and killing Dolce at the scene. Dolce was 29 years old. Reporting did not indicate that Dolce was armed with a firearm. Officer Burson later died from injuries sustained during the incident. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation opened an inquiry into the police shooting, which was reported as pending at the time of coverage.

On June 17, 2021, around 9 p.m., deputies from the Socorro County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired at 78 Pedro Place in Veguita, New Mexico. A neighbor reported that occupants of a white Dodge pickup truck were shooting at an unoccupied residence. Deputies Richard Lopez and Carlos Valenzuela arrived and were met with gunfire from Dean Gross, who fired at least one shot at them. Both deputies returned fire, striking the truck, which caused an explosion. During the incident, Max Jaramillo, 29, fled on foot into the desert. Dean Gross, Joseph Ramalia, and two women remained at the scene and were detained by deputies. Jaramillo was later found deceased in a nearby arroyo.

On 06/17/2021, starting at about 7: 59 p.m., the Chippewa County Central Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a truck driving recklessly in the Pickford area, heading north towards Sault Ste. Marie. Deputies from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office located the truck traveling northbound on M-129 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The truck did not stop and continued at high speed with police chasing until it collided with the rear of a small car driven by bystander Katelyn Jo "Katie" Robinson at the intersection of M-129 and 20th Street. The collision propelled Robinson's car into an electric pole, causing her to be ejected. She died at the crash site. The truck then continued northbound, eventually crashing after hitting a stop sign, an electric pole guide wire, three parked cars, and a building. The driver of the truck was transported to War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, also with life-threatening injuries.
