While two state troopers were injured, the driver of the pickup was killed. The crash took place around 1:30 a.m.

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Iowa State Patrol observed a vehicle traveling at high speeds on Highway 69 near Lake Mills, Iowa. The driver, later identified as 61-year-old Jessica A. Chandler of Lake Mills, did not stop when troopers initiated a traffic stop.

On June 12, 2024, at approximately 9:19 p.m., Minneapolis Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man seen with a handgun and allegedly threatening people near the 3400 block of Hiawatha Avenue. Officers arrived and identified the man as 39-year-old Michael Warren Ristow. He fled on foot, and police chased after him.

The pursuit ended near a fence, where Ristow allegedly turned toward the officers with a handgun. Officers Enoch Langford, Abdirizaq Mumin, and Chaz Wilson opened fire, striking him an unknown number of times. He was transported to Hennepin Healthcare and was pronounced dead at 9:52 p.m.

On June 11, 2024, Damion Laddal Jones, 31, of Easley, South Carolina, was killed by Opelika PD near Interstate 85 in Opelika, Alabama. Officers with the Opelika Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler and a passenger car around 2:35 PM. During their response, Jones allegedly confronted officers while armed with a knife. Police further allege that he advanced on them despite verbal commands. Police have not explained what transpired from their arrival to a crash site to cause this escalation and how they approached Jones. Police opened fire and killed Jones. His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for postmortem examination. No autopsy report nor quotes from it have been made available.

On June 11, 2024, at approximately 6:40 a.m., South Bend Police Department officers responded to reports of a man threatening individuals with a knife near the East Race and LaSalle Avenue in South Bend, Indiana. The man, identified as 69-year-old John Charles Neiswender, had allegedly chased two city workers with a knife after they confronted him for public urination, stabbing their vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Officers Joseph Carey and Randall McMurray located Neiswender in a nearby parking lot at the intersection of East LaSalle Avenue and North Niles Avenue. Upon approach, Neiswender brandished a knife and threatened to kill the officers. Officer McMurray, trained in crisis intervention, attempted to de-escalate the situation and deployed his Taser multiple times. Neiswender then advanced toward the officers with the knife. In response, Officer Carey opened fire, striking Neiswender three times. Neiswender was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On 06/08/2024, Homestead Police officers arrived at a residence on NW Second Street in Homestead, Florida, to arrest Gabriel Gelpi Rodriguez, 33, in connection with a prior incident. According to police accounts, Rodriguez was allegedly holding an unspecified sharp object when officers encountered him inside the home.

Harrisburg Police officers with a K9 chased someone on foot at 1:30 a.m. in the streets of Harrisburg. The man eventually allegedly fired shots at police. They shot and killed him. In a police press release, police stated they did not know why the man was running from them. They did not state why they were chasing him but evidently could not find anything he had allegedly done wrong.

Graham PD chased a vehicle for a moving violation until it crashed into a home, killing the driver, Juan Carlos Lemus Aguilera, and injuring people in of the home. Six residents of this home, including a baby, taken to hospitals with injuries ranging from skull fracture, broken legs, lacerations and abrasions. This high-risk chase was undertaken for a moving violation.

Scranton Police arrived at a domestic violence incident with one woman shot and injured. The man locked himself into the home and a tense standoff was escalated by SWAT. Tactical and explosive units were deployed for unknown reasons. When police breached the home, they found the man dead from apparent suicide under police duress.

Vancouver PD arrived to Columbia Street and Columbia Way on reports that a man was letting an aggressive German shepherd loose and that the dog had bitten one person. Police located the man, allege that he pointed what appeared to be a gun at them, and they shot and killed him. This was the third fatal shooting for Officer Brandon Riedel in 4 years who had previously shot Andrew A. Williams on Oct. 4, 2020 and Joshua James Wilson on May 30, 2023.

On 06/07/2024, the Georgia State Patrol SWAT Team was dispatched to a residence on Sunbury Drive in Richmond Hill, Georgia, after receiving reports of a domestic violence incident. Agnes Asberry called 911 to report that her ex-husband, Jermain Asberry, had arrived at her home and shot her multiple times in the arms and legs. Their three children fled to a neighbor’s house and contacted authorities.

Police established a perimeter, evacuated nearby homes, and attempted negotiations with Jermain Asberry, who threatened to shoot any approaching officers. During this time, medics were allowed inside the residence to provide assistance to Agnes Asberry, who was transported to Memorial Hospital in Savannah, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

After several hours of unsuccessful negotiations, the Georgia State Patrol SWAT Team deployed tear gas into the residence. Upon entry, officers discovered Jermain Asberry deceased in an upstairs bedroom from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
