An armed robbery incident concluded approximately two miles from the crime scene when police pursued and stopped a vehicle using a PIT maneuver on Baymeadows Way. On February 17, 2021, deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office attempted to arrest 28-year-old James Edward Coe for outstanding warrants. Deputies observed Coe and another individual leaving a residence in Salisbury and getting into a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

On 02/11/2021, Hot Spring County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on Two Rivers Trail near Malvern. Deputies reported encountering Jacob Aaron Thomas armed with a shotgun. According to police, Thomas fired the weapon toward deputies, and deputies opened fire, killing him at the scene.

On February 11, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic dispute at the Harvest Moon Trailer Park in Woodward Township, where 38-year-old Clifford E. Wilbur Jr. had allegedly assaulted his brother-in-law, Fred Peterson, with a handgun and made threats to kill family members. Wilbur fled the scene before troopers arrived and subsequently committed an armed robbery at a nearby Sheetz convenience store, stealing two 24-ounce cans of beer. Troopers located Wilbur's vehicle and initiated a pursuit toward Williamsport on Route 220. Despite the deployment of spike strips that flattened his tires, Wilbur continued to evade police, eventually crashing his car into a utility pole in the 3500 block of West 4th Street. After the crash, Wilbur brandished a handgun and ignored multiple commands to surrender. Officers attempted non-lethal measures, including firing pepper balls into the vehicle, but Wilbur continued to wave his firearm. In response to the imminent threat, troopers and officers discharged their weapons, fatally striking Wilbur. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lycoming County Coroner. The Lycoming County District Attorney later ruled the use of lethal force as justified.

On February 11, 2021, Alexis Leigh Davis-Gooden, 35, was initially stopped by a Menands Police Department officer on Broadway in Menands, New York. After providing her information, the officer returned to his patrol car to run checks through state and federal systems. Before the officer could complete the stop, Davis-Gooden fled the scene in her vehicle, heading toward Watervliet. Shortly thereafter, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the front gate of the Watervliet Arsenal. Davis-Gooden was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were investigating an allegedly stolen moped at 1:15 a.m. at a Circle K. A struggle ensued between the officers and a man, during which police stated the man pulled out a gun. Officers shot and killed him.
