A U.S. Marshals agent fired, striking and killing him. No agents were reported injured. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the incident and will submit findings to the Attorney General’s Office.

On 03/30/2026, deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office searched for Michael Decker following multiple reported incidents across the county. Deputies located him on Mine Road near Hopedale. During the encounter, deputies opened fire and killed him. Authorities have not released full details about what occurred immediately before deputies opened fire.
