On 11/14/2025, officers from the Orlando Police Department served a search warrant at a tattoo shop at 4864 Edgewater Drive near Lee Road targeting multiple suspects believed to have criminal histories. Officers say at approximately 2:05 p.m. a man emerged from the business armed with an AK-47 style rifle and then ran back inside. On 11/11/2025, 62-year-old Paul Maraio shot and killed two of his neighbors in the Tropical East community of Port St. Lucie, Florida. After the shootings, Maraio entered another home and took a 77-year-old woman hostage, holding her for over an hour while barricaded inside. Police responded with SWAT teams, drones, K-9 units, and crisis negotiators. During the standoff, Maraio told negotiators he had shot himself in the chest. Drone footage confirmed his injury, and officers entered the home and transported him to the hospital, where he died early the next morning. On 11/06/2025 at approximately 7:15 a.m., a deputy from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office patrolling near the Walmart Supercenter at 21151 South Dixie Highway in Goulds attempted to contact an individual reported by a loss-prevention officer to be actively stealing 3 or 4 items. The man, 36-year-old Kennedy Graham, fled on foot from the deputy, who pursued. A physical confrontation occurred at the store entrance during which Graham was found armed. The deputy discharged his weapon, striking Graham, who collapsed just outside the store and died later at the hospital. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now investigating the deputy-involved shooting.

On November 2, 2025, deputies from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office shot and killed 27-year-old Mario Camacho during a domestic violence call in Brandon. Deputies were dispatched after reports that Camacho was choking his 7-year-old brother and armed with a knife. When they entered the home, Camacho was wearing a motorcycle helmet and ballistic vests, barricaded in a bedroom with the child. On or about 09/24/2025, deputies responded to a report of battery at Links Edge Condominiums on Saxony Circle, Deep Creek. While deputies were speaking with the alleged victim, 50-year-old Daniel Burch reportedly approached and a verbal altercation escalated. A scuffle ensued, and at least one deputy discharged at least three shots. Burch was hit at least twice and transported by air to a hospital.
