Within minutes, officers located the stolen 2007 Jeep Cherokee near the intersection of Dallas Street and East 25th Avenue. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled. Police escalated a pursuit.

The pursuit lasted approximately four blocks, ending when the driver lost control of the stolen vehicle after hitting a speed bump in the 1900 block of Dayton Street. The vehicle collided with several parked cars, including one occupied by 24-year-old Oliver Jose Zeledon Gongora. Gongora was fatally injured in the crash.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Aurora, was apprehended at the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation, treated, and released into police custody. Due to his age, his identity has not been publicly released.

On 03/14/2024, Francisco Nunez, a 38-year-old father of eight, was reportedly involved in an incident with deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD). Nunez was in a vehicle identified by LASD as possibly stolen. Two individuals fled the vehicle, leaving behind a 14-year-old boy, who was shot in the chest and legs by LASD deputies but survived. Eyewitnesses, including the boy, reported that LASD deputies handcuffed and beat Nunez at the scene.

Five days later, Nunez was found deceased 250 feet from the location of the alleged assault, with blood in his mouth, hands, and pants, as well as visible bruises and burn marks on his body. LASD claimed Nunez had never been in custody and cited methamphetamine toxicity as the cause of death. However, the coroner disputed this, telling Nunez's family the death was consistent with injuries from a physical altercation.

The investigation was conducted internally by LASD, with deputies Rivas and Leopoldo Sanchez, known for affiliations with the LASD deputy gang "Banditos," reportedly involved. Tustin Street in Orange, California, when he was fatally struck by a vehicle involved in a high-speed police chase conducted by the Orange Police Department. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene but was apprehended shortly thereafter. The Orange Police Department is investigating the incident.

Ripley, Ohio officer Caleb Savage chased Ryan Mitchell from Ohio into Kentucky and hunted him until he crashed. When the vehicle crashed, Mitchell died and the officer fled the scene without rendering aid. The officer resigned from the Ripley PD and has so far been indicted for charges of reckless homicide, failure to render aid and leaving the scene of an accident. Officer Caleb Savage was charged with reckless homicide.

Police arrived at a liquor store where Roosevelt Overton Jr. was robbing the business. Police allege that he had a gun and they shot and killed him. A total of six officers all opened fire on him. The sheriff withheld the bodycam video for undisclosed reasons.

This was the fourth fatal shooting for Officer Devin Inocencio who previously also killed Dontel Thompson, Charion Lockett and a 52-y/o unnamed victim. Officer Inocencio was cleared for all 4 killings and was back on patrol in April of 2024.

A 52-year-old man for reasons unknown fired a shot at a 31-year-old man, injuring his face. SWAT were called and a lengthy standoff ensued while the man had locked himself into the home. Police made forcible entry and heard a gunshot. The man had committed suicide under police duress.

On March 11, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an Upland police officer observed a vehicle traveling west on 9th Street near Grove Avenue without a front license plate. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver accelerated, reaching speeds up to 100 mph. The officer allegedly did not pursue but alerted other units. The vehicle was later spotted entering downtown Upland, where the driver lost control at the intersection of 9th Street and 2nd Avenue, crashing into a tree near a gazebo. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire, and the driver, identified as 35-year-old Adam Ulrich of Victorville, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Two officers sustained minor burn injuries during the incident. The Upland Police Department is handling the investigation.

On March 11, 2024, Hot Springs police initiated a traffic stop on Jody Lyn Lewis. After stopping the vehicle, Lewis exited and engaged in a shootout with officers.
