Orlando PD stopped Derek Diaz in an attempted drug bust. He stopped and cooperated and handed over a small aluminum foil packet and put his hands on the steering wheel. Several officers swarmed around the car. He made a motion with one hand off the steering wheel and was shot by a number of bullets instantly. ***UPDATE 10/26/2023: The family has gathered a national team of human rights lawyers and they are demanding that Mobile PD allow them to view bodycam video, give them the shooter officers' names and other key evidence the family has been entirely deprived of under the excuse that the information is confidential and may be viewed by a grand jury only. The family states that they were not allowed to view the body, read the autopsy and they just discovered on 10/24/2023, that the shooter officers who murdered Jawan Dallas have quietly been cleared and are back at work while the family is not allowed to learn their names.

According to Mobile PD, about 9:46 p.m. Sunday, their officers responded to a residential burglary in progress at 5413 Carol Plantation Road, within the Plantation Mobile Home Park where they encountered 2 men. One of the men, 36-year-old Jawan Dallas, resisted, was tasered an unknown number of times and died.

Anchorage PD were sent to a call about shots fired in the area. Sean M. Burke stood next to a vehicle on the side of the highway with a gun. Police that he started walking toward them. They shot and killed him.

Sam Knight was pulled over by Effingham deputies for a traffic stop. Police claim he became “combative” and shot at deputy. Police escalated a chase when he tried to escape the situation. Georgia State Patrol Bryan County deputies and Bloomingdale PD all participated in the high-speed chase. A shootout between police and Sam Knight ensued and Knight was killed.

George Bell, a 68-year-old third-party motorist was driving down the street on Powhatan Parkway in Hampton, VA when a police vehicle lost control, hit two unoccupied parked vehicles and then hit a house. George Bell was in the first vehicle that was hit by the officer. He died in the hospital 2 weeks later from injuries. It is not known how fast the officer was driving and why they may have been speeding.

Ligonier Valley PD arrived after domestic disturbance.Robbie Thomas Saunders opened the door with a machete and was shot and killed. His son, a military veteran, disputes the necessity for the shooting, stating he had been in such situations during this service and that shooting to kill without de-escalation is wrong. Nashville PD responded to the 300 block of College Street on the evening of Saturday, July 1. Two officers approached what they felt was a “suspicious vehicle “parked in a parking lot near the city greenway on College Street with 2 occupants. One of the officers requested Devon Derantez Rutherford, 21, to step outside the vehicle. He exited, and an unknown fight ensued between the officer and Rutherford with police claiming that Rutherford pulled out a handgun. Both officers were able to kick the gun away from Rutherford but Rutherford then produced a second weapon, firing and striking one of the officers. The uninjured officer fired his service weapon, striking and killing Rutherford. The injured officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies in Highlands County attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a stop sign andgot a 911 call from a woman who said she was being held in the car. Ramon Martinez, 37, was a passenger in the vehicle and was believed to be forcing the woman to keep driving. Martinez eventually put the vehicle back in drive and tried to spin tires to get himself unstuck. Then Martinez allegedly began shooting at the SWAT team after chemical agents were deployed in the vehicle. He was shot and killed.

Greensboro PD were called to check on a man who was carrying knives or a machete around. When they approached, the man ran away. Police allege that they were driving patrol when Darryl Gamble fired at them twice from a semiautomatic weapon, hitting the patrol car. Darryl Gamble, 40, was to appear in court with an officer testifying against him. That same officer ended up being one of the shooters who killed him on Wednesday night before he could go to court. There was a warrant for his arrest at the time of his death for drug possession and the officers who were on patrol that night and killed him were drug enforcement cops.

Shortly before 1 a.m., officers observed a white Jeep speeding near 19th Street and Greenfield Avenue. Milwaukee PD allege that the driver ran a red light near Cesar E. Chavez Drive and Greenfield Avenue. Police tried stopping the vehicle for reckless driving, and the driver sped off.
While being chased, the driver lost control and crashed into a vacant building near 23rd and Hopkins. The two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
