LAPD chased a minivan full of people whom they wanted for a previous incident, escalating the chase until the minivan crashed into a Metro bus. The driver died and several people were injured. Police did not disclose why they were chasing the vehicle.

On 11/05/2023, Zachary Carson, 33, was driving southbound on State Route 7 near Middleport when police chased a blue Ford Mustang convertible driven northbound by Zackary Jeffers after a reported domestic violence incident in Mason County, West Virginia. Police said Jeffers did not stop and the chase continued across county lines into Ohio. Near milepost 3 around 9:08 p.m., Meigs County deputies deployed spike strips in the roadway. Reporting at the time said Jeffers hit the device, lost control, crossed left of center, and crashed head on into Carson’s vehicle, killing Carson at the scene. Jeffers was taken to a hospital and later died from injuries.

A wrongful death lawsuit later filed by Carson’s estate alleges Carson was an uninvolved bystander traveling below the speed limit and had no role in creating the danger. The suit names Meigs County, Mason County, and Point Pleasant and also names Meigs County Sheriff Scott Fitch, Deputy Kyle Calendine, and Deputy Cody Gilbraith. The lawsuit alleges Calendine directed the deployment and Gilbraith deployed the spike strips at an unsafe, impromptu location without traffic control, while the chase was reaching about 100 miles per hour, and that no firearm was recovered despite early concerns about a weapon. The suit also alleges that after the crash, Calendine made callous remarks on body camera about Carson’s death, including saying it is what it is and calling it the price of business, and it cites a recorded comment attributed to Gilbraith immediately after the deployment. The Athens County Independent reports the defendants have denied wrongdoing and that the case is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on 02/04/2026.

Quiana Brown, 38, was crossing the street in Baton Rouge when a grey sedan hit her and left the scene. It is unknown whether she was injured and still alive or at which point she died because a responding Baton Rouge police vehicle rushed to the scene and ran over her body lying in the street next. She was dead after the second impact and it is not known which of the 2 vehicles killed her, the hit-and-run grey sedan or the responding Baton Rouge PD officer. The family is convinced due to unknown details that the impact by the police cruiser, the second crash, killed her.

Fresno PD were called to an apartment building where a suicidal man was in mental health crisis. When police appeared, he fled, was chased, exited his vehicle and allegedly ran toward police holding scissors. They tasered, then shot and killed him.

Police chased a vehicle they felt was possibly linked to an attempted burglary. They attacked the vehicle with a PIT maneuver and it spun out and landed in a retention pond. A man ran from the vehicle with a gun. Police shot and killed him.

Beauford County deputies chased a vehicle that did not stop. Police escalated a chase that ended when the man hit a tree. Police state that “gunfire was exchanged” and the man was killed. Police knew the man and had chased him on previous occasion before. Police did not explain what weapon he allegedly had and if it was him who had fired any shots in what is vaguely described as a “shootout.”

Paul Vincent Noeller poured gasoline all over the yard and house and when police arrived, he set it on fire. Police fired shots at him. He died at the scene. His Meta page shows the words “I just wanted to be loved” in large letters. It is not known what the meaning of this message is.

On November 2, 2023, Palmetto police responded to a call about Breonte' Johnson-Davis in the midst of a mental health crisis. Officers attempted to restrain him, using a taser to subdue him. He later died in custody.

The exact number of times the individual was tased during the incident with Palmetto police or the duration of each taser application has not been fully disclosed. However, reports confirm that he was tased multiple times while in police custody. The medical examiner attributed his death to "excited delirium" and the effects of methamphetamine, along with his interaction with police, particularly the taser use. Activists have raised concerns about the use of force and are calling for an independent investigation. Excited delirium is popular police jargon, but is not considered to be a serious medical diagnosis.

Lee County deputies were called because the town mayor of Smiths Corner, AL and pastor Bubba Copeland was in mental health crisis. Police chased them for a “welfare check” until they became very despondent during the chase, pulled out a gun and committed suicide under police duress.

Bubba Copeland a.k.a. online as Brittini Blaire Summerlin, had been the local popular mayor, married with 3 children who left behind many people who spoke very fondly of them. They ran several social media accounts in which they called themselves a “transitioning transgender curvy girl” and encouraged transitioning. Copeland posted many photos in drag and wrote fantasy novels around transgender topics. This was discovered by an ultra-conservative media publication and they were brutally outed in the media. They made public announcements, explaining the harmless nature of their social media activity but they were under immense pressure from their local ultra-conservative Alabama environment. On November 3, 2023, they were reportedly in a mental health crisis and driving in Smiths Corner when police started a chase and they committed suicide “in custody” during the chase.

Someone called 911 and reported that a person had broken into a home and was threatening family members. Police arrived and chased Thomas Nock. They claim he produced a gun and shot and killed him. Police found a man dead inside, presumably having been killed by Nock. Details are still outstanding on this case and will be updated when information becomes available.

Police were called because a 48-year-old man was found sleeping on the porch of a mobile home in a sleeping bag. Police chased the man and allege he fired shots at them. They shot and killed him.

Kootenai County deputies were called to an alleged mental health emergency.
According to someone who knew Ms. Smith, she had been an elderly woman who was 95% blind, had been served a 60-day eviction notice which was then reduced to 30 days. She reportedly had run out of options. Five consecutive gunshots were heard by witnesses, suggesting suicide to be highly unlikely. A helicopter and SWAT armored vehicle added to the military racket causing distress to the whole community per eyewitnesses. They arrived and for unknown reasons, they fired shots at her. SWAT arrived. Police stated that the woman was “found dead in the apartment.”

Police are refusing to answer any questions about the incident and the police chief was confident on 11/10/2023 in an interview that his officers would be cleared from the incident and back to work shortly. A bodycam was eventually released, showing that the officer fired at least 18 bullets at a woman who was hiding in her bed with a pistol.

Wolcott PD arrived at a mental health crisis with a suicidal man who had cut his neck and was bleeding but was alive. The man allegedly did not comply with police commands, was tasered and then killed. It is not reported that any professional mental health help was ever made available before he was attacked and killed by police.

Marysville PD were alerted to a possibly stolen vehicle. They escalated a chase, placed stop sticks and the vehicle stopped with the driver fleeing on foot. The driver, Sean Hughes, allegedly hid and when discovered, committed suicide under police duress. He had been wanted for questioning in a homicide out of Pennsylvania.

Milwaukee PD spotted a vehicle they felt to be stolen and escalated a chase in a 35 mph zone to 100 mph until the fleeing driver crashed into Erin Mogensen who was a third party motorist driving down the street and was killed by the police chase crash. According to Alaska State Police, a traffic stop was attempted and the truck failed to stop for marked trooper vehicles and police escalated a chase, during which time Grimes allegedly shot at troopers. Troopers were joined by officers from other agencies assigned to a trooper-led narcotics team and an unknown number of officers from both agencies opened fire and killed Michael Grimes.

Las Vegas Metro PD were called to a domestic violence situation and found a man who had stabbed a woman. Police claim that he walked toward police and an officer announced on bodycam that he would deliberately hit him with the car and did so, killing him. Dannon Bryant was hit and run over by Officer James Burt who then exited the vehicle and with Bryant on the ground stabbing himself, Officer Burt first tased him.

Officer James Burt, the officer who deliberately killed Bryant by car had also previously killed 35-year-old Edmund Del Valle in 2009 who was jaywalking, was harassed by police, allegedly had a gun in his pocket and was kneeling on the ground before the officer when killed by Officer James Burt. Burt was cleared for this killing.

Officer Burt was arrested in 2016 for domestic battery and strangulation with kidnapping of his girlfriend and was cleared and put back on patrol. The apartment was on fire and a dog screaming for help died in the fire. The woman he had stabbed tried to escape via balcony and fell from a height while being rescued by a neighbor and died also.

Charleston PD saw a red sedan at 1:30 and tried to stop the driver who kept driving. Police escalated a chase that lasted until the man lost control at high speed, ran into a high voltage power line, the vehicle split in two and exploded in a fireball, killing the driver.
