Police arrived for a report of a man with a gun on Gainesville Street. Police arrived, saw a man who fit the description and shot and killed him. The man fired back and injured the officer who has a leg injury and is expected to recover. He is not seen shooting at all in the enclosed BWC video, heavily redacted, that was released by police. The bodycam video shows that very likely the injured officer was shot by another officer, not Porter who is only seen running away.

Daniel Brown, an unhoused 63-year-old cyclist, was riding east on State Road 200 around 3 a.m. near On Top of the World, a retirement community. East of the intersection with Southwest 80 Avenue, a sheriff’s office SUV came flying at 96 mph in a 50 mph zone without lights or sirens and with evidence that no brakes were ever used and hit and killed Brown on his bicycle. The deputy told troopers he could not see the cyclist before hitting them. Daniel Brown died at the scene.
Deputy Jaglal could have been charged with vehicular homicide but was cleared of criminal charges and was cited for failure to use due care when approaching a pedestrian or bicyclist. The ticket, the only repercussion for this deputy, requires a mandatory court appearance. Jalal's driver's license could be suspended for up to six months, and he could be fined up to $1,000. The case is pending a court appearance.

Round Lake Beach PD were called to a residence where a man who had once had a relationship with the resident had arrived and was unwanted. The resident had called police and the man left. Police allege that he had a meat cleaver at one point but there is no report of violence so far reported during the home invasion event.
Police arrived and looked for him, found him and hunted him westbound on Rollins Road. Police escalated a chase and promptly “called off the chase” before the vehicle crashed into 2 parked cars. The force of the pursuit crash was such that one of the parked vehicles spun into a 55-year-old man who was there to look at the vehicles as they were for sale. The 55-year-old was transported to the hospital in unknown condition and his survival is unknown. The man who had been hunted by police into this crash died and was identified as 38-year-old Lamar Chargois.

Since the man was seriously injured on the ground and fading in and out of consciousness, it is unclear why deputies could not step a few feet away from him if they were threatened and call for more competent medical and mental health help instead of killing him.

Kerrville PD saw a white Honda sedan when they were looking for a stolen vehicle fitting that description. Police escalated a high-speed chase which ended when the vehicle being chased crashed into a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup was critically injured and airlifted to a hospital and a second hospital in unknown condition. The driver of the white Honda that had been chased died. The person was only identified as male without disclosure of his identity. Police initially stated they chased the vehicle because it “fit a description” of a stolen vehicle and police also initially also claimed the vehicle was stolen during an “armed carjacking” but have not followed up and given any details under which circumstances or alleged weapons threat the vehicle had been stolen and if this was indeed the same vehicle police hunted into this wreck.

Leonard Cure was traffic-stopped on the I-95 in Camden County, Georgia on 10/16/2023 and reportedly cooperated with the deputy until he was told he was under arrest. It is unknown how the deputy approached him or why he was suddenly attacked by taser at a traffic stop but he allegedly fought the deputy because he did not want to go back to jail under any circumstances. He was shot and killed.
Leonard Cure had spent 16 years in a Florida prison and was exonerated when his innocence was proven in 2020. His reaction to being told that he was under arrest for an unknown traffic infraction was to try to escape. He was murdered in the process. Police have no comment so far, have not made claims thus far that he had been armed and have not commented why they killed him. Leonard Cure died at a traffic stop in Georgia at the hands of a deputy on 10/16/2023.
*** 10/20/2023 UPDATE: It was discovered that deputy Buck Aldridge who killed Leonard Cure has a profound history of excessive force and on-duty and off-duty misconduct that caused him to be fired from his previous employer, the Kingsland PD. He was hired as deputy by Camden County in 2017 and is a sergeant.

Geoffry Frank Walker had 2 warrants for a previous family violence episode. Bartow County deputies located him and began an aggressive manhunt for the stated reason of these family fights, attacking him with a PIT maneuver and forcing him to crash his vehicle. Walker reportedly “hopped” out of his vehicle and fled according to local media with police unleashing and siccing a K9 after him. Walker allegedly fired a shot at the police K9 and injured him. The police dog was taken to the hospital and survived. Police chased Walker behind a hotel compound and shot and killed him. Police also seemingly mocked him when they described him as “hopping” away from the vehicle but this description suggests that he may have been injured by the aggressive PIT and dog attack. Police did not state how the police dog was injured, whether by bullet by police or by Walker fighting back.

It is unclear how police knew the driver was unlicensed unless they had been targeting and following him and this detail needs clarification from police. The vehicle slowed down, dropped off a passenger and kept driving. Georgia State troopers hunted the vehicle at high speed until it crashed into a Honda Civic at high speed, instantly killing a woman who had been driving down through Memorial Drive and Hairston Road when hit by the massive police chase crash.
