KelvontaeZikel Banks was killed early Friday morning after an officer crashed into his car on Georgia Highway 85 near Riverdale. Family report that the Clayton County police car came out of nowhere. “No lights on, no nothing” said father of deceased. A baby was injured.His father stated:"He was coming to pick his child’s mom up at 1 o’clock at this KFC and he was looking at him come in. He saw my son turn in and this police officer came out of nowhere, with no lights on or nothing and he killed my son," Butler said. His 2-year-old was in the backseat when he died and was admitted to Children's Hospital.

During investigation of a stolen car, DeKalb County officers were led to the home of Marando Salmon. When they entered the bedroom, he threw an object at them. It is unknown how many police had invaded the home. They allege that he reached for something and in case that was a gun, they shot and killed him. There are no claims that he had used or held any weapons when killed in his home.

Timothy Wayne Hodges was apparently involved in a vehicular accident, was intoxicated and police allege also uncooperative. More Wood County deputies arrived and Hodges fled. When police located him, he put a gun to his own head in desperation. Deputies shot and killed him.

Kyle Styles Lovera Lockett, 21, was fatally shot by plainclothes NYPD police when police intervened in an altercation between Lockett and another man in front of a deli on the corner of Gun Hill Road and Hull Avenue in Norwood on Thursday, Nov. 3. Members of the Queens Warrant Squad were nearby in an unmarked police vehicle were investigating an unrelated incident when a man entered the deli and allegedly engaged in a violent struggle with Lockett, who was already inside.
Lockett allegedly had a gun while the other man was allegedly stabbing him with a knife. Police allege that Lockett fired into the white Lexus after the fleeing man.

On 11/02/2022 at about 11:40 a.m., Dallas Police Department officers responded to a 911 call from Diana Evelyn Ruan, who reported that she had shot a man inside a motel room and was going to shoot herself. Officers who arrived learned both Ruan and the male victim were inside the room. Patrol officers requested SWAT for a barricaded person call. As SWAT attempted to negotiate and prepare for emergency entry, they heard gunshots from inside the room. Officers made entry after forcing the door open and found Ruan deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The male victim was located inside the bathroom with gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital in critical condition. No officers discharged their weapons. The Dallas Police Special Investigations Unit and Dallas County District Attorney’s Office were notified to conduct further review.

On 10/31/2022 at about 1:05 a.m., a Taylor Police Department officer was responding to a call for service and searching for an address when his patrol vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway at the intersection of Goddard Road and Westlake Avenue in Taylor. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Michigan State Police are investigating the fatal crash, including review of in-car camera footage, vehicle inspection, medical examiner findings, and prosecutor review.

On 10/31/2022 shortly after 2 a.m., Cedar Rapids Police Department officers attempted to stop a black Chevy Tahoe for traffic violations on 33rd Avenue Southwest. The vehicle did not stop and a pursuit continued onto Interstate 380 southbound. The driver took the Highway 30 westbound exit ramp, lost control of the vehicle which rolled multiple times, and was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

On 10/31/2022, Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a domestic dispute call in Fawn Township. Upon arrival, troopers encountered Zachary John Cervice directing a firearm at officers and refusing commands to drop the weapon. Troopers fired multiple shots, striking Cervice. Following a review by Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr., it was determined that the use of deadly force by the troopers was justified after investigation of the evidence and circumstances. No criminal charges were filed in connection with the shooting.

On 10/31/2022 at about 7:57 p.m., Laramie County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving felony warrants at a residence on the 6900 block of Horse Soldier Road in the Saddle Ridge neighborhood of Cheyenne. During the warrant service, James Albert Templeton Jr. and deputies exchanged gunfire. A sheriff’s deputy was shot and later treated at a hospital. Templeton died from gunshot wounds sustained during the exchange of fire with law enforcement. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation is conducting the official investigation.

On October 30, 2022, police escalated a chase in excess of 100 mph, with Kenneth Jamel Carol fleeing and running multiple red lights in the process. The pursuit was high-speed, cutting through urban streets, and lasted several minutes before Carol's vehicle became inoperable after crashing. It was reported that he crashed into a pole or another fixed object, after which he fled on foot, pursued by several officers from both the Davenport Police Department and the Iowa State Patrol. During the foot chase, Carol allegedly fired shots at police. Six officers fired a total of 53 bullets, 13 of which struck Carol. Four of the officers were from local departments, and two were from the Iowa State Patrol.

Notably, on October 16, 2022, this was not the first time Carol had been targeted in a police chase. In a previous incident earlier that year, he drove away from officers who attempted to stop him but was able to elude them. It is believed that the stop on October 30, just two weeks after the first chase, may have been pretextual, with officers possibly targeting Carol due to their inability to stop him during the earlier encounter.

On 10/30/2022 at about 6:00 p.m., Dallas Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting a man with a handgun involved in an argument near Fair Park. Police identified the armed man as Donathy Wayne Doddy. As officers approached him, Doddy raised his firearm and opened fire. Officers returned fire, discharging a combined 15 rounds and striking Doddy. He was transported to a hospital, where he died from his gunshot wounds. No officers were injured in the exchange. Dallas Police released body camera video of the encounter to the public in November 2022.

On 10/30/2022 shortly before 5 a.m., Bettendorf Police Department officers responded to a reported disturbance in the area of Belmont Road and Duck Creek Parkway East. Upon arrival officers encountered Kenneth Jamel Carroll. Carroll and officers engaged in a shootout. Carroll was struck and later died from his gunshot wounds. The Scott County Attorney’s Office released findings that the use of deadly force by officers was ruled justified following the review of evidence.

On 10/30/2022, Omaha Police Department officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired in the area of South 30th Street and Marcy Street. Officers located Jeramyah Wilson seated in an SUV and observed him holding a firearm. Officers took positions of cover and repeatedly commanded Wilson to drop the weapon. Wilson made threatening statements and at one point made a movement with the firearm toward an officer. Two officers then discharged their weapons, striking Wilson. He was transported to a hospital where he later died from his gunshot wounds.
