Deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office were attempting to locate Lewis Moores II around 9:50 a.m. to arrest him on outstanding warrants. Two deputies ordered Moores to come out of his home. After about 10 minutes, Moores fired at the deputies, prompting one deputy to return fire. A standoff ensued, lasting approximately two hours, during which Moores periodically fired more shots while refusing to surrender. Moores ultimately shot and killed himself.

Deputies from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle driven by a woman at 2:45 a.m., with Johnny Ray Kirk and Michael Allen Lawson as passengers. On July 11, 2021, Shawn Marvin Thomas, 36, was shot and killed by deputies from the San Juan County Sheriff's Office following a pursuit that began on the Navajo Nation. Markell J. Nevels, a 19-year-old Black male, died by suicide on July 9, 2021, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Police responded to the Campus Crossings Apartments around 10:40 a.m. after a report of a stolen vehicle. The owner of the white Lexus told police that Nevels was looking through the glove compartment and then pointed a handgun at him before fleeing in the car. The pursuit ended in front of the Regal Inn when Nevels allegedly rammed three Murfreesboro Police Department vehicles, a Rutherford County SUV, and a citizen's car. Nevels then fatally shot himself.

Wichita police officers were made aware of a man experiencing mental health issues and suicidal thoughts. The man had reportedly threatened his neighbors and pointed a gun at individuals in a Wichita business. In the evening, officers pursued the man through several areas of west Wichita. His vehicle veered off the road at 55th Street South and South Meridian Avenue and entered a wheat field. The speed of the vehicle and heat from the engine sparked a fire in the dry grass, engulfing the car in flames. The man died from burns and smoke inhalation.

Dorris "DJ" Acree, a 23-year-old Black male, died by suicide on July 8, 2021, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Around 6 a.m., officers with the Clarksville Police Department attempted to serve a narcotics search warrant at an apartment on Cobalt Drive. An hours-long standoff ensued, during which officers tried to negotiate with Acree. Following the standoff, Acree was found deceased inside the apartment from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Christopher Lawrence Seay initially stopped, but he allegedly provided false information to officers. When police instructed Seay to park and turn off the engine, he fled the scene. Officers pursued Seay until his vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Williamsburg Road and S Airport Drive. Seay's vehicle overturned several times, ejecting him from the vehicle. He was killed in the crash.

On July 7, 2021, deputies from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence incident at No. 1 Entrada Capulin in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Edward Daniel Santana, 45, allegedly stabbed his mother, Delia Cervantes, 67, multiple times. Deputies found Santana standing on a patio holding a fence post. On July 7, 2021, at 8:57 a.m., an Indiana State Police trooper stopped a silver 2012 Ford Focus on I-94 eastbound at the 40-mile marker for several alleged traffic offenses, including following too closely and speeding in a construction zone with workers present. During the stop, the trooper discovered that the driver, Vernell F. Muhammad, had active warrants through La Porte County for aggravated assault. As the trooper attempted to place Muhammad into custody, he drove away. Police escalated a chase. On July 6, 2021, a 32-year-old man named Steven Adam Calderon of Los Angeles died following a prolonged standoff with law enforcement in Paso Robles, California. Earlier the day before, officers had been called to an apartment complex around 4 p.m. after reports that Calderon had fired a weapon from a balcony, threatened a woman with a gun, and pointed a firearm at his girlfriend. He barricaded himself inside the residence while armed. The San Luis Obispo Regional SWAT team was activated for the high-risk situation. After several hours of negotiation and multiple shots fired by him at officers or their armored vehicle, Calderon emerged early the next morning and set his gun down. He then allegedly reached toward the firearm while on the porch and was shot and fatally wounded by SWAT officers.

At approximately 8:45 p.m. on July 6, 2021, officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Dr. W. J. Hodge Street. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. Officers escalated a chase. Police claim that they called off the chase moments before the driver ran a red light on Dr. W. J. Hodge Street and collided with a moped at the intersection of Broadway. The driver of the moped was killed. A second person on the moped was injured. The Kentucky State Police investigated the incident.

On July 6, 2021, at approximately 6:01 a.m., Danville Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the Super 8 Motel located at 3663 South Danville Bypass in Danville, Kentucky. Upon arrival, officers encountered 33-year-old Shelby Ray Hardin, who was holding his mother hostage at knifepoint. Officer Kyle Lyons opened fire, killing Hardin. The Kentucky State Police conducted the investigation.

On 07/06/2021, Anne Arundel County police officers responded to a call at 1448 Stoney Point Way in Curtis Bay, Maryland, following a protective order hearing. Earlier, a protective order against Baltimore Police Officer Eric Banks Jr. was denied on June 25, but a second petition was granted at 3 p.m. on the same day. Officers found Dasan "DJ" Jones unresponsive in a hole in the wall with a white cover leaning on it, located upstairs in a loft area of the residence. DJ was discovered to have been strangled. Officer Eric Banks Jr., who was DJ's stepfather, was charged with second-degree murder, attempted disarming of a police officer, and child abuse resulting in death after the incident.

On 07/05/2021, the Le Center Police Department and Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office responded to a call after a woman reported she was assaulted and strangled by Michael Lee Elie. A standoff started around 9: 20 p.m. Two children, ages 12 and 4, were still hiding in the house. Police talked to Elie on the phone, but he refused to come outside. They convinced him to let the children leave the home. Officers breached the home at around 7: 15 a.m. and found Elie dead with a self-inflicted gunshot.

On July 5th, 2021, at approximately 11:08 a.m., San Antonio Police responded to a report of shots fired at 234 Noria, where a man with two guns reportedly shot at a reporter and cameraman. Officers later located Eduardo Mendez Amezquita at 322 Noria, where he had forced his way into an occupied home and threatened to kill the occupants while physically assaulting one of them. Negotiators spent four hours attempting to communicate with Amezquita, who threatened to burn down the house. At approximately 3 p.m., Amezquita exited the home, armed with a pistol, and was shot and killed by five officers around 3:17 p.m.

On 07/05/2021, CHP officers initiated a vehicle pursuit that began in the Pasadena area and ended in downtown Los Angeles when the fleeing driver rammed a patrol car. The driver was shot by officers following the crash and died at the scene. The circumstances around the ramming and the subsequent use of force are under investigation.

On 07/04/2021, the Olivia Police Department responded to an incident where around 2: 20 a.m., an "altercation" ensued, and Officer Aaron Clouse shot Ricardo Torres Jr. Police said a shotgun was recovered from near where Torres was shot. On 07/04/2021, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers pursued a BMW traveling at very high speed in Northwest Jacksonville. The vehicle lost control on Edgewood Avenue North near Shenandoah Avenue, crossed the median, and struck a Chevrolet Suburban before bursting into flames. Pamela Stone, 48, was trapped inside the BMW and pronounced dead at the scene. Five others were injured, including a police officer who sustained burns while attempting to help. The crash remains under investigation.
