On 09/03, Robbinsdale police officers attempted to initiate a stop of an SUV reported stolen during an armed carjacking. The vehicle fled at high speed into Minneapolis and lost control at Northeast Lowry Avenue and Hayes Street, crashing. Alyjah Thomas, 15, who was a passenger, died from injuries sustained in the crash. Three other juveniles in the vehicle were hospitalized with injuries.

On September 3, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies from the Valencia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) responded to a suspicious vehicle report on New Mexico State Road 6 near mile marker 19. Upon arrival, they encountered 28-year-old Jose Angel Baca, who fired at a deputy, striking him. Baca then fled the scene in a white Dodge pickup truck. A "be on the lookout" (BOLO) alert was issued, and VCSO deputies, along with New Mexico State Police (NMSP) officers, located Baca's vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The chase continued through Los Lunas, with Baca eventually crashing near the railroad tracks at State Road 314 and Davila Road. Baca exited the vehicle and began firing at law enforcement officers. In response, two VCSO deputies and one NMSP officer discharged their weapons, fatally wounding Baca. A VCSO deputy was injured by shrapnel during the exchange but was treated and released from the hospital. Baca was pronounced deceased at the scene. At the time of the incident, Baca had recently been released from probation for aggravated battery upon a police officer resulting in great bodily harm, battery on a household member, and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer during arrest. The names of the officers involved were not released immediately following the incident. The New Mexico State Police Investigations Bureau conducted the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.

On September 3, 2021, around 6 a.m., a U.S. Border Patrol agent apprehended four migrants near the Rio Grande River in Laredo, Texas. The agent handcuffed the four migrants to each other using three pairs of handcuffs. As the agent assisted the migrants through a barbed wire fence en route to a Border Patrol unit, a female migrant managed to slip her hand from the handcuff. She then ran approximately 50 feet toward the Rio Grande and fell from a 20-foot cliff in the darkness, sustaining fatal injuries. The Laredo Fire Department arrived at the scene and declared her deceased. The incident is under review by the Laredo Police Department, the Webb County Medical Examiner's Office, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Professional Responsibility. The DHS Office of Inspector General was notified of the incident.

Following a several-hour standoff, Vos was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident is under investigation by local authorities.

On September 2, 2021, Michael Ouellette, 37, president of the Italian-American Club in Warren, Rhode Island, fatally shot Assistant Fire Chief Brian Remy, 66, and wounded Jason Furtado, 41, inside the club. After the shootings, Ouellette fled the scene on foot. Bristol Police Chief Kevin Lynch and Major Scott McNally, responding to the incident, encountered Ouellette on Water Street. On 09/02/2021, a passing motorist called 911 to report a person standing near a motorcycle and waving a gun at Sheridan Boulevard and I-76 in Arvada, Colorado. Deputies were called after a man rammed several vehicles during an altercation with family members at a church. They spotted him driving the wrong way down the Hardy Toll Road. On 09/01/2021, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Connor Riley McDaniel in a rural, unincorporated area near Gollihar Court in Peyton, Colorado. Police stated McDaniel was suicidal and that deputies encountered him in an open field before he moved into a wooded area overlooking their position. Police stated deputies spoke with him by phone for several hours. Police alleged that during the standoff, McDaniel fired a weapon at least once toward deputies. Police stated three deputies opened fire and killed him.

On September 1, 2021, at approximately 3:30 PM, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) deputies responded to reports of a public disturbance in the 6400 block of Park Manor Drive in Metairie, Louisiana. Upon arrival, deputies encountered Anne Marie Schilly, a 65-year-old woman, reportedly agitated and behaving erratically. Witnesses stated that Schilly was directing racial slurs and profanities toward parish workers repairing a water main. Specific remarks included the use of the N-word and commands such as, "Go back to your country," directed at the workers. This behavior was captured by bystanders on video.

Deputies approached Schilly to de-escalate the situation, but she refused to cooperate, entered her vehicle, and fled the scene. In the process, Schilly dragged one of the responding deputies with her car for a short distance before breaking free.

A high-risk pursuit ensued, with Schilly driving erratically through Metairie, endangering other motorists and pedestrians. During the chase, she reportedly attempted to strike multiple individuals with her vehicle. Eyewitness accounts describe her driving onto sidewalks and into oncoming traffic, exacerbating the public safety threat. The pursuit concluded near the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Lisa Drive, where heavy traffic temporarily halted Schilly’s vehicle.

As deputies approached her car to take her into custody, Schilly accelerated, striking a second deputy. In response, Deputy Jane Smith fired multiple shots into the driver’s side of her vehicle, striking Schilly. Her car traveled an additional 40 to 50 feet before coming to a stop. Schilly was pronounced dead at the scene.

On 09/01/2021, police from the Battle Creek Police Department responded to a call around 3: 55 p.m. regarding Kamren Brown attempting to break into a woman's home. On August 30, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Brevard County Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop near Interstate 95 and State Road 192 in West Melbourne, Florida. The vehicle had three adult occupants and a 2-month-old infant. During the stop, deputies asked passenger Paris Wilder to exit the vehicle. Wilderimmediately opened the door armed with a rifle and began shooting at the deputies. Deputies opened fire, resulting in Wilder's death. One deputy was shot in the lower leg and sustained a non-life-threatening injury. The injured deputy was also attacked by Wilder with multiple strikes to the head with the butt of the rifle. As the attack on the injured deputy continued, the original deputy was able to end the threat by using deadly force and shooting Wilder.

Officers responded to a disturbance call at 68 NW 95 Street in Miami Shores, Florida. Upon arrival, they found EtiannaPlanellas outside. Planellas pointed an apparent weapon toward an officer, prompting the officer to shoot and kill her. It was later determined that Planellas had a BB gun.

On August 29, 2021, at approximately 4:15 a.m., 24-year-old Michael Rosado and his 44-year-old father, Rafael Rosado, were involved in a dispute with a group of individuals on Valentine Avenue in the Bronx. The dispute escalated to a physical altercation, during which Michael Rosado allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired several shots.

Two off-duty NYPD officers, who had just completed their shifts at the nearby 46th Precinct, witnessed the shooting and intervened. Michael Rosado allegedly turned and fired several shots at the officers. In response, the officers returned fire, fatally shooting Rosado. Rafael Rosado was arrested but was not injured in the incident.

On August 29, 2021, at around 5:30 p.m., deputies from the Missoula County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Southside Road, west of Missoula, following reports of a disturbance. Johnny Lee Perry II was allegedly involved, swinging a machete and making threats. Deputies fired less-lethal options and then opened fire, killing him.

On August 29, 2021, a pregnant woman was killed when a stolen car being pursued by Newton County deputies crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of Highway 36 and Henderson Mill Road in Covington, Georgia. The woman bystander was in the struck vehicle and died from injuries sustained in the crash. Her identity was not released publicly. The pursuit began after the vehicle was chased by law enforcement.

On August 28, 2021, Fort Smith Police responded to reports of unauthorized individuals tampering with vehicles at a construction site on Old Greenwood Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a damaged and abandoned Ford van and evidence of multiple construction vehicles being hot-wired. A water truck had been stolen and later found crashed through a fence at a nearby business, where additional vehicles had been tampered with. A box truck stolen from the business was tracked to an area near South E Street in Fort Smith. When officers attempted to engage the man, he drove away. Police escalated a chase into Arkoma, Oklahoma. In Arkoma, police attempted to stop the box truck using patrol vehicles. The driver rammed the police vehicles, nearly driving over a small police sedan. Officers then discharged their firearms, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the truck was unharmed and taken into custody. Another woman, allegedly connected to the incident, was arrested after arriving at the scene at high speed. Due to the man being Native American, the FBI assumed jurisdiction over the investigation, in accordance with federal guidelines.

On 08/28/2021, deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a fight involving Ingmar Von Strandberg and threats that he would kill others and himself. Police stated Strandberg later drove south in a white van and was found pulled over along U.S. 95, where an Esmeralda County deputy was attempting to negotiate with him while he sat in the passenger seat. Police stated deputies attempted to convince Strandberg to exit the vehicle and that he said he would get out with a gun and that officers would have to kill him. Police stated Strandberg exited the vehicle holding what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it toward deputies. Deputies opened fire. Police stated Strandberg then sat up and again pointed the object toward deputies, who fired additional shots and killed him.

On 08/28/2021 a man from Mexico, Anastasio Rocha, was found dead inside his 2014 white Chevrolet Malibu shortly after midnight in Edinburg. The body was discovered following the conclusion of a police pursuit.

On 08/28/2021, Brianna E Sullivan was driving a GMC Terrain north on Interstate 293 near the Bedford and Manchester line when her vehicle struck the right side guardrail and then crossed the roadway into a concrete barrier. Police arrived and found her unconscious at the scene. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries. A male passenger survived with non life threatening injuries. Police reported that alcohol and distraction were factors under investigation.

On August 27, 2021, at approximately 11:32 a.m., officers responded to a report of a wanted person in Eldridge Park in Elmira, New York. As an Elmira officer entered the park to arrest 53-year-old David G. Wandell, he allegedly pointed a black revolver at her from about 20 yards away. The officer fired several shots, although it is unclear how many shots were fired or if Wandell was struck.

Around 11:45 a.m., officers learned that Wandell had moved to Davis Street and then proceeded to Woodlawn Cemetery. Several officers reportedly confronted Wandell in the cemetery, where he allegedly brandished a weapon. Officers then shot and killed Wandell.

On 08/27/2021, the Sharon Hill Police Department responded to gunfire outside a high school football stadium on 300 Calcon Hook Road in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania. Shots were initially fired on the street, with at least one round directed toward three Sharon Hill police officers. The officers opened fire into the crowd of people, injuring four people and killing Fanta Bility.
